BEACH, ND, June 18, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- James Jacob Campbell has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Campbell has established himself as a leading expert in agricultural machinery and equipment, currently serving as the equipment specialist lead at Gooseneck Implement since 2019. In this capacity, he is responsible for mastering new and emerging John Deere technologies and equipment relevant to large-scale production agriculture. His role encompasses working with limited production build equipment prior to commercial release, evaluating usability and operational effectiveness within the regional service area, and developing comprehensive training platforms and instructional materials for new equipment. Mr. Campbell also gathers operational data and feedback on cutting-edge agricultural technologies, trains internal employees on equipment operation and application, assesses the practical implementation of new machinery for local agricultural operations, and demonstrates proper usage procedures to end users.
Before joining Gooseneck Implement, Mr. Campbell dedicated 15 years to Dakota Farm Equipment, beginning his tenure there in 2000 as a technician during a transformative era for agriculture marked by the emergence of precision agriculture technologies. At that time, Dakota Farm Equipment operated as a single-store dealership with a limited focus on precision agriculture. However, Mr. Campbell's technical acumen positioned him to address the evolving needs of the industry. Throughout his career at both organizations, he has consistently engaged with innovative equipment and has often been among the first to test and implement new technologies before they became widely available.
Mr. Campbell graduated from high school in 1993. He then studied at Montana State University in Bozeman, earning an undergraduate degree in social and criminal justice in 1997.
Beyond his professional commitments, Mr. Campbell is actively involved in civic initiatives related to agricultural education. He volunteers with the National FFA Organization and provides training and educational outreach to students interested in precision agriculture. Additionally, alongside his wife, Marty, an agricultural teacher for grades seven through 12, they visit high schools and junior high schools to discuss career opportunities within agriculture, emphasizing the advanced technology now integral to the industry and encouraging students from diverse backgrounds to explore roles beyond traditional farming. Aside from his community involvement, Mr. Campbell serves as a contributor to magazine articles about precision agriculture, where he shares his expertise with a broader audience.
Among his most notable achievements, Mr. Campbell was one of the first four dealers in the U.S. to work with See & Spray technology, a groundbreaking advancement in precision agriculture. He also played a pivotal role in the development of an autonomous tractor, a self-driving tillage system capable of operating without human intervention in the field. These innovations underscore his commitment to remaining at the forefront of technological progress within the industry. Notably, Mr. Campbell's expertise has been recognized through features in prominent publications, such as Dickinson Press and Farm and Ranch Guide in 2025, as well as Agweek. Additionally, he has participated in radio segments highlighting his professional insights and is a featured speaker for NDSU Extension Service, North Dakota Farm Bureau, North Dakota FFA, and Montana FSA.
Mr. Campbell attributes much of his professional success to the unwavering support of his wife, who was raised on a ranch and possesses deep insight into the agricultural lifestyle. Her understanding of the cyclical nature of farming, marked by intense periods during planting, seeding and harvest, enabled him to devote himself fully to his career.
A career that reflects a steadfast commitment to innovation, education and community involvement within the agricultural sector, Mr. Campbell's leadership continues to inspire both colleagues and future generations interested in shaping the future of farming technology. Among his future goals, he is committed to advancing agricultural education by supporting the development of a precision agriculture curriculum for high schools, a project that includes a video series introducing key concepts and terminology for students unfamiliar with modern equipment, such as air seeders or electric-drive planters. Through this initiative, he will help bridge knowledge gaps among students and teachers alike, fostering greater awareness of technological advancements within agriculture.
