TROY, AL, June 25, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Keith Edward Baker has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Marked by nearly three decades of expertise and a reputation for outstanding franchise leadership, Mr. Baker has built a distinguished career in the automotive industry. As Chief Operating Officer of Greenville Automotive Group, which includes Greenville Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and Greenville Chevrolet in Greenville, Alabama, he manages day-to-day operations for both dealerships. Since 2022, he has overseen variable operations such as sales, parts and service, integrated modern technological processes, and developed leadership structures to drive the company's long-term success. In addition to supervising nearly 60 employees, he is dedicated to establishing and maintaining strong relationships with customers, addressing any concerns, and striving to provide them with the highest-quality experience.
Before becoming COO, Mr. Baker initially joined Greenville Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram as General Manager from 2021 to 2022, spearheading operational improvements, strengthening leadership accountability and fostering a customer-first culture. From 2016 to 2021, he excelled in a similar management role at Bill Jackson Chevrolet-Cadillac-Pontiac-Buick-GMC, Inc. in Troy, Alabama, where he further honed his leadership skills and deepened his expertise in best dealership practices.
From 2014 to 2016, Mr. Baker was the General Manager of Chuck Stevens Chevrolet in Bay Minette, Alabama, where he improved customer retention and developed future leaders within the company. His earlier experience includes serving as Vice President of Sales and Operations at McConnell Automotive Corporation in Mobile from 2012 to 2014 and as General Manager of Universal Motor Cars across Spanish Fort and Daphne for three years, overseeing all aspects of dealership performance and building workplace cultures where every employee could thrive.
Mr. Baker began his career with a seven-year tenure at Chuck Stevens Dodge Chrysler Jeep in Bay Minette, where he worked as a General Sales Manager from 2002 to 2009, as well as a five-year spell at Terry Thompson Chevrolet in Daphne as Director of Finance from 1997 to 2002.
Alongside his primary roles, Mr. Baker has consistently prioritized professional development and industry engagement as a member of the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA). While Mr. Baker is proud of the operational success he has achieved throughout his career, he finds the greatest satisfaction in helping others succeed. He considers it especially rewarding to see employees who started in entry-level positions develop into leaders, managers, and mentors for others within the organization. For him, some of the most meaningful moments have come from watching individuals discover their potential, build successful careers, and provide better lives for their families as a result of opportunities created within the organizations he has helped lead.
Hailing from an equally accomplished educational background, Mr. Baker is currently completing his Bachelor of Business Administration at Strayer University and plans to immediately pursue a Master of Business Administration upon graduation. Earlier in his educational journey, he began his studies at James H. Faulkner Community College (now Coastal Alabama Community College) before earning an associate degree in business with a concentration in management and operations from Troy University in 1999.
To further enhance his automotive credentials, Mr. Baker completed the Future Dealer Development program at NADA Dealer Academy with certifications in financial management, parts management, service management, inventory management, marketing management, and business leadership. Throughout his career, Mr. Baker has earned a reputation for developing high-performing teams, improving operational efficiency, and creating customer-focused dealership cultures.
Mr. Baker's decision to enter the automotive sector was influenced by his family background; his father served as the General Manager for multiple dealerships, while other family members held leadership positions in parts, service and finance. These influences exposed Mr. Baker to the automotive industry at an early age through summer jobs in vehicle detailing and inventory management. Although he initially pursued pre-medical studies with aspirations of becoming an anesthesiologist while playing collegiate baseball, life circumstances ultimately led him to embrace a career in automotive sales, a decision shaped by his affinity for mathematics, public interaction and problem-solving.
Reflecting on his storied journey to date, Mr. Baker attributes his achievements to perseverance, the ideals of lifelong learning and a steadfast commitment to serving others with integrity, all of which were instilled in him by his grandfather's advice: "If you are always upfront, honest and transparent with customers, you will turn this job into a career." He emphasizes adaptability, technological awareness, and maintaining a customer-centric philosophy as the keys to longevity in the automotive sector.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Baker is deeply committed to civic engagement and philanthropy. Both his wife and his ex-wife are breast cancer survivors, a personal connection that fuels his passion for breast cancer awareness initiatives. Each October, his dealerships donate $100 for every car sold to support breast cancer awareness efforts; he is also an active supporter of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Additionally, he participates in muscular dystrophy fundraising through jail-and-bail promotion events for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and supports Pilots for Christ — a program that provides free flights for cancer patients seeking treatment at facilities such as MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Mr. Baker is also the proud father of two children, an adult son who served as a combat medic in the U.S. Army and a 10-year-old daughter who is actively involved in competitive dance. He is also the proud grandfather of a grandson who is approaching four years old.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Baker intends to continue guiding his family through life's challenges while focusing on professional growth within or beyond his current organization. He is equally committed to helping his employees succeed through regular one-on-one meetings where he can share his knowledge, help them set their own goals, and track their progress throughout the year. With aspirations of acquiring additional dealerships or establishing a group that can serve future generations of his family, he continues to exemplify an outstanding legacy of helping others through everything he does in the automotive industry and beyond.
