Dr. Sayers, a distinguished educator and retired faculty member of the business division at Milwaukee Area Technical College, has dedicated 33 years to her profession. Her career began in 1987 as a senior legal secretary at the Wisconsin State Public Defender's Office, where she honed her skills in legal administration. In 1992, she transitioned to Milwaukee Area Technical College as an administrative assistant in the Office of the General Counsel. During this tenure, she played a pivotal role in developing the college's webpage and converting institutional policies into an online format, marking significant achievements in her career.

In 2000, Dr. Sayers was promoted to coordinator of legal services at Milwaukee Area Technical College. By 2003, she had embraced academia fully, becoming a faculty member in the business division. Her passion for teaching was ignited when she was invited to teach evening classes, leading her to develop an accelerated program for administrative and legal assistants tailored for working individuals.

Dr. Sayers also served as chair of the office technology department for three years and contributed as a scholarship reviewer while also worked closely with the college president to prepare board and subcommittee agendas and ensuring that they complied with the law. During her teaching career, Dr. Sayers also prepared numerous reviews for textbook publishers. Her commitment to education is further evidenced by her membership in the National Association for Legal Support Professionals. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her dedication to advancing educational opportunities and integrating technology into academic settings.

Dr. Sayers academic journey is equally impressive, beginning with an associate degree in legal secretary. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice and management from Concordia University-Wisconsin in 1994, graduating magna cum laude, and a Master of Business Administration in public administration from the same institution. Later, she obtained a doctorate in education from Capella University in 2011. In addition to her educational experience, she attributes much of her success to determination and resilience, having pursued her goals while raising two children at a young age.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dr. Sayers is actively involved in civic organizations, such as the Indian Summer Organization and the National Association for Legal Support Professionals. Furthermore, she volunteers with the International Association of Administrative Professionals and The Creative Sisterhood.

In her personal life, Dr. Sayers enjoys writing, spending time with family, traveling and volunteering. She has two children, five grandchildren, one granddaughter-in-law, and two great grandsons, and finds joy in music, theater, gardening and helping her elderly neighbors. With a love for caring for people, she is considering returning to teaching part-time classes in the future, continuing her lifelong dedication to education and community engagement while also working to complete her autobiography.
