Also a black belt in the art of kung fu, Dr. Christie has maintained her longstanding dedication to fitness and martial arts as former co-owner and instructor at B. D. Hailing from an equally robust academic background, Dr. Christie earned a Doctor of Ministry from Northeastern Seminary in 2022 after completing a master's degree in transformational leadership at the same institution in 2013. Her educational foundation includes a Bachelor of Science in management from Houghton College (now Houghton University) in 2010, coursework as a theatre major with a dance minor at Buffalo State University from 1988 to 1990 and broadcast journalism courses at The State University of New York College at Geneseo in 1989.

Reflecting on her storied journey across numerous industries, Dr. Christie credits her success to overcoming adversity and maintaining faith in her missions during challenging times. She believes that perseverance fosters creativity and that gratitude for life's blessings enables one to make a positive impact on others.

Dr. Christie's passion for civic engagement and helping those in need is reflected through her service as the New York State director, spokesperson and media representative for A Cup of Cold Water USA — which raises funds to aid orphaned children as well as Holocaust survivors — since 2023. She is also the founder and chief executive officer of Royal Sunshine, a ministry she created in 2013 to help women and children around the world escape the horrors of slave trafficking.

Though her career counts many milestones, winning the Mrs. America pageant in 1997 marked a turning point for Dr. Christie that elevated her national profile and provided her with a respected platform for advocacy. In the wake of her victory, she engaged in a number of radio and television programs and public speaking events, and became the official osteoporosis spokesperson for the State of New York in 1999.

Determined to utilize her platform to make a difference through creative endeavors as well, Dr. Christie wrote and published "America the Windstorm: Changing Your Prayer Life and Your Mindset: Empowerment for Living" in 2013, offering insights into spiritual growth and inspiration. Her talents extend to music as a singer-songwriter with popular works such as "Love Is the Answer" and "Do Right" as the featured song for the "DanSING Pancakes" book. Despite facing early setbacks — including a blocked collaboration with a Buffalo Bills player due to National Football League regulations — her perseverance finally led to recognition by a Grammy-winning producer after trying out multiple times for "The Voice" and making it to the end of the audition process and still waiting to get on the Lives.

Having recently acquired a church building that is undergoing renovations, Dr. Christie intends to use it for ministry work and television programming aimed at fostering positive change within communities. As a pastor and longtime evangelist leading faith-based leadership conferences, she remains steadfast in empowering young girls to recognize their value and identity, and make meaningful contributions to society.

Additionally, Dr. Christie plans to raise funds to build a facility in Uganda and expand the abilities of other orphanages in Nigeria and elsewhere, all with the goal of improving access to education and essential school supplies for children in need.
