In this capacity, he managed accounting operations, supervised staff and contributed to the firm's growth by implementing process improvements and providing high-level client service.

From 2020 to 2022, Mr. Bornhorst was a staff accountant at American Freight Furniture, Mattress and Appliance. During his tenure, he played a key role in the company's transition through a private equity acquisition and public offering. This experience provided him with valuable insight into the complexities of corporate finance and the unique challenges faced by growing businesses.

Mr. Bornhorst previously held dual roles at HHH CPA Group LLC in Columbus from 2015 to 2020. As a senior staff accountant from 2018 to 2020 and a tax-audit accountant between 2015 and 2020, he developed advanced skills in tax preparation, audit procedures and client advisory services. These positions allowed him to deepen his understanding of the accounting profession while building lasting relationships with clients and colleagues.

Prior to his time at HHH CPA Group LLC, Mr. Bornhorst worked as an accounting cash specialist at BMW Financial Services in Columbus from 2014 to 2015. In this role, he was responsible for managing cash transactions and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting for the organization.

Mr. Bornhorst's early career included serving as an insurance agent with Bankers Life and Casualty Company from 2013 to 2014, where he gained experience in client relations and risk management. His professional foundation was laid on his family's dairy farm in Midwest Ohio, where he worked as a handyman from 2004 to 2008. This formative experience instilled in him a strong work ethic and firsthand knowledge of the entrepreneurial challenges faced by small business owners.

Mr. Bornhorst's academic background includes a bachelor's degree in accounting from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business, completed in 2012. A significant milestone in his career was earning his Certified Public Accountant license in Ohio in January 2019. He regards this achievement as a testament to his persistence and dedication, qualities that have enabled him to relate closely with small business owners and provide credible guidance rooted in personal experience.

Reflecting on his career, Mr. Bornhorst attributes his professional success to persistence and the support system provided by family, friends and former employers. Maintaining contact with partners from previous CPA firms has offered ongoing guidance, support and referral opportunities throughout his career.

Mr. Bornhorst's decision to enter the accounting profession was shaped by his experiences working at several CPA firms and witnessing the gap between business owners' expectations and the services typically provided by such firms. Recognizing that entrepreneurs needed forward-looking advisory services rather than surface-level guidance inspired him to launch North Point CFO, a venture aimed at helping small businesses thrive despite economic challenges.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Bornhorst is actively engaged in civic organizations, including the Alzheimer's Association® and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, where he volunteers as a financial adviser. He is also pending membership with both the Rotary Club and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Born in Minster, Mr. Bornhorst enjoys snowboarding, attending live concerts, working on cars and spending time with family outside of his professional commitments.
