SACRAMENTO, CA, July 30, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lanique Ruffin, PsyD, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
As the founder and chief executive officer of Reclaime, LLC, which she established in Sacramento, California, in 2025, Dr. Ruffin has led an impactful career of more than a decade as a clinical psychologist, entrepreneur, and advocate for mental health and wellness. Through Reclaime, she works with high achievers — from veterans to corporate executives to leading women in male-dominated industries — who have built remarkable public lives but are seeking something the achievements alone never gave them: a sense of fulfillment that doesn't depend on what they accomplish next. It's work she understands from the inside, because she has spent her own life learning the difference between performing success and actually living in it.
That understanding has roots that go back further than her doctorate, further even than her career — to her mother, who modeled what Dr. Ruffin describes as a forever-student mindset: a quiet, consistent willingness to learn, adapt, and grow at any age. It's a value Dr. Ruffin carries into everything she builds, and one she credits as the real foundation beneath her professional achievements.
In addition to her leadership at Reclaime, Dr. Ruffin is the owner of and licensed clinical psychologist at LR Psychological Services in Riverside County, a role she has held since 2021. She dedicates her weekends to providing direct services to clients while also engaging in government contracting with Veterans Affairs. Drawing on her extensive clinical training with veterans facing mental health challenges, her government work is particularly focused on supporting service members — a commitment made deeply personal by her extended family's military background and her ongoing collaborations with veteran support entities.
From 2019 to 2021, Dr. Ruffin served as a lecturer in the Department of Africana Studies at San Diego State University. It was there, during the early uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, that she found herself called into a different kind of role. Watching her students grapple with helplessness in the face of police brutality and displacement, she partnered with community organizations to secure housing and internship opportunities, and built something her students needed but didn't yet have: a safe place to land. That effort grew into Club 455, an online support group that expanded into an international community, offering encouragement and affirmation to people navigating a global crisis. Dr. Ruffin still considers it one of the most meaningful achievements of her career — not because of its scale, but because of what it offered: proof that connection can be built even in the hardest seasons.
Earlier in her professional journey, Dr. Ruffin founded The Whole Village, LLC in 2014, spending six years as an international wellness consultant and delivering virtual speeches to audiences of up to 10,000 people worldwide.
Alongside her clinical and entrepreneurial work, Dr. Ruffin is a member of several national psychology associations. She also serves on the board of directors for Eternal Living Now (ELN), a nonprofit she helped establish at the request of family and friends seeking guidance toward healthier spiritual perspectives. Her involvement with ELN is an extension of her spiritual values, which has long shaped how she thinks about purpose, service, and what it means to care for people beyond the clinical hour.
Dr. Ruffin earned a Doctor of Psychology in clinical psychology from Alliant University at the California School of Professional Psychology in 2014, a Master of Arts in clinical psychology from the same institution in 2011, and a Bachelor of Science in psychology and social behavior, with a minor in business management, from the School of Social Ecology at the University of California, Irvine, in 2009.
Long before any of those degrees, though, Dr. Ruffin was already learning what it meant to chase excellence on a demanding schedule. By age 12, she was a nationally competitive figure skater, splitting her education between traditional public school and independent study so she could travel for competitions — all while remaining an Honor Roll student with a 3.5 GPA or above. She went on to become a professional sports model and, by age 13, won the title of Miss San Joaquin Valley. It was an early and formative education in discipline: how to hold multiple standards at once, how to perform under pressure, and how to keep showing up — for the ice, for the classroom, for the people counting on her.
That same drive carried her through graduate school. But Dr. Ruffin is candid that it also led her somewhere she didn't expect: a doctorate earned at age 26, followed by the realization that achievement alone hadn't given her the sense of arrival she'd spent her life working toward. It was the beginning of a personal reckoning — and ultimately, the experience that would shape The Unbound Balance Method™, the framework she now uses to help others find what she once had to find for herself: success that's actually theirs.
Committed to expanding Reclaime by developing retreats for high-achieving women who have outgrown their definition of success, Dr. Ruffin's vision includes building an online community home with private spaces for engagement, nervous system recalibration, and connection. She is also preparing to launch Unbound Conversations, a podcast featuring interviews with accomplished women from diverse backgrounds who have made significant career pivots of their own.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Dr. Ruffin enjoys being a yogi, an avid foodie, a cosplayer, fictional writer, and a regular at anime conventions — reminders, she says, that excellence doesn't have to come at the expense of joy.
Through every stage of her career and personal life — whether helping a veteran feel seen, a student feel safe, or a high achiever finally feel at home in her own success — Dr. Lanique Ruffin has remained committed to one throughline: that real achievement isn't just about what you build. It's about who you become, and who you bring with you along the way.
