ANN ARBOR, MI, July 10, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Om Prakash Goel, PhD, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Goel earned his BSc (Honors) from the University of Delhi, India, in 1962, before pursuing graduate studies in the United States, where he completed both a Master's degree and PhD in Organic Chemistry at Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University) in Pittsburgh, under the mentorship of the renowned Professor Robert B. Carlin. This formative training launched a career of exceptional scientific contribution: through Professor Carlin's referral, Dr. Goel joined the Process Chemistry group at Parke-Davis & Co. in Detroit, where he rapidly distinguished himself, ultimately rising to lead Process Chemistry at the company's Ann Arbor Laboratories, directing a team of more than 30 chemists in the development and scale-up of new drug entities for preclinical and clinical study.

Among his most significant achievements are the development of the manufacturing process for Lopid, a landmark therapy for lowering triglycerides, and his invention of a pure crystalline form of the ACE inhibitor Quinapril — a breakthrough formally recognized in the Merck Index. These innovations proved instrumental in enabling successful clinical development and the timely market introduction of medicines that have benefited countless patients worldwide.

Following his retirement from Warner-Lambert/Pfizer, Dr. Goel continued his scientific leadership as head of Process Chemistry at Ricerca Biosciences from 2004 to 2006. In 2007, drawing on decades of expertise, he founded Jiva Pharma in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he serves as Chief Executive Officer. Under his visionary leadership, Jiva Pharma has grown into a hub of pharmaceutical innovation, with Dr. Goel personally credited with securing 24 independent patents — a remarkable testament to his enduring inventiveness. The company anticipates filing two new Investigational New Drug (IND) applications within the next two years, further cementing its role at the forefront of novel chemical entity development.

A lifelong advocate for scientific rigor and continuous learning, Dr. Goel maintains active membership in the American Chemical Society and stays closely engaged with the field through regular reading of C&E News and the Wall Street Journal — a discipline that allows him to bring both deep scientific insight and financial acumen to Jiva Pharma's research and development strategy.

Dr. Goel attributes his enduring success to faith, daily prayer, and an unwavering commitment to positivity. He speaks passionately about the importance of strong upbringing and self-belief in achieving both professional excellence and meaningful contribution to human welfare, and he is a vocal advocate for mental health awareness as a cornerstone of resilience. Guided by Dale Carnegie's timeless principles of communication and mutual respect, Dr. Goel is known for his warmth, generosity of spirit, and genuine interest in others — qualities matched by his remarkable photographic memory, an asset that has served him equally well in the laboratory and in life.

Beyond the laboratory, Dr. Goel leads a vibrant and disciplined life, maintaining his physical vitality through weightlifting and gym training three times weekly. An enthusiastic bridge player, he is a devoted member of a weekly Indian professional social group, reflecting his deep commitment to community and connection.

Family remains central to Dr. Goel's legacy. His late spouse, Kavita, was a remarkable woman from a prominent Mumbai family, educated at the historic Alexandra All-Girls High School in Mumbai before earning her BSc in Microbiology from Bombay University and a Master of Public Health from the University of Michigan. In tribute to her legacy, Dr. Goel made a meaningful contribution toward improvements at her alma mater, an act of generosity honored with a commemorative plaque bearing their family's name.

Dr. Goel is the proud father of three accomplished children — a daughter with a Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Michigan, and a daughter and son who both hold Harvard Business School degrees and reside in New York — as well as a devoted grandfather to seven grandchildren.

Looking to the future, Dr. Goel remains as driven as ever, with ambitious plans to expand Jiva Pharma's domestic and international footprint. He intends to grow the company's health supplements division and bring innovative new products to market, including a promising formulation shown to reverse graying hair. Additional priorities include the development of sublingual formulations for depression treatment, over-the-counter analgesics for topical relief, and patented liquid laxative and zinc acetate formulations for the treatment of Wilson's disease.

A pioneering scientist, entrepreneur, and mentor, Dr. Goel continues to exemplify a rare combination of intellectual achievement, entrepreneurial vision, and deeply held personal values — a legacy defined by innovation, family, faith, and unwavering dedication to advancing human health.
