FRISCO, TX, July 10, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sreemdevi Ramakrishnan has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Ramakrishnan has established a distinguished career in pediatrics, marked by her commitment to integrative and holistic medicine. Since 2018, she has served as the pediatrician and founder of Pediatric Associates of Frisco. In this role, she has drawn on her extensive experience to build a thriving practice from the ground up, providing comprehensive care to children and their families. Her approach emphasizes not only traditional pediatric care but also integrative strategies that address nutrition, environmental health and overall well-being.

Prior to founding her own practice, Dr. Ramakrishnan spent a year in private practice before joining Texas Health Huguley in Burleson, Texas, where she worked as a physician from 2016 to 2018. There, she played a pivotal role in establishing the pediatric division and expanding access to quality healthcare for children in the community.

From 2008 to 2016, Dr. Ramakrishnan worked as a physician with OSF HealthCare in Rockford, Illinois. She was instrumental in launching a new health center and provided care across multiple settings, including the neonatal intensive care unit and outpatient pediatrics. During this period, she also served as medical director at Walter Lawson Children's Home from 2008 to 2014, overseeing clinical operations and ensuring high standards of care for medically complex children.

Dr. Ramakrishnan's earlier career includes serving as chief medical resident at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois from 2007 to 2008. In this leadership position, she managed residency training programs and contributed to the professional development of future pediatricians. She completed her residency training at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria from 2005 to 2008, where she was recognized for her leadership abilities by being appointed chief resident in pediatrics.

Before relocating to the United States, Dr. Ramakrishnan practiced as a consultant pediatrician at Vijaya Hospitals in 2003 and PM Hospital in 2002, both located in India. Her foundational clinical experience began as a pediatric resident at the Pediatric Emergency Unit of the Institute of Child Health and Hospital for Children from 2000 to 2002.

Throughout her career, Dr. Ramakrishnan has maintained active membership with the American Academy of Pediatrics, reflecting her dedication to ongoing professional development and advocacy for children's health.

Dr. Ramakrishnan's academic background is equally robust. She earned her medical degree from Madras Medical College in Chennai, India, in 2000. She later completed residency coursework at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria, which laid the groundwork for her subsequent leadership roles and clinical expertise.

Dr. Ramakrishnan's commitment to lifelong learning is evident through additional certifications and specialized training. In 2012, she became a certified ayurvedic lifetime consultant, integrating traditional healing practices into her approach to pediatric care. She also completed the Culinary Health Education Fundamentals course at Harvard Medical School, further enhancing her ability to counsel families on nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices.

In addition to her clinical achievements, Dr. Ramakrishnan is board-certified in pediatrics and integrative medicine and has distinguished herself as one of only approximately 300 to 400 board-certified pediatricians nationwide with an integrative medicine specialty. She completed a fellowship in integrative medicine at the Dr. Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine in February 2026, an internationally renowned program founded by Dr. Weil, recognized for its rigorous curriculum and innovative approach to patient care.

Currently, Dr. Ramakrishnan is pursuing an additional fellowship in pediatric integrative medicine, a highly specialized field with fewer than 100 practitioners who have completed both fellowships; she is set to complete this program in December 2026.

Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Ramakrishnan is deeply engaged in civic initiatives aimed at improving children's health outcomes. Since 2024, she has served as president of Thrive Kids Foundation, a nonprofit organization she founded to address the rising prevalence of chronic diseases among children. Dr. Ramakrishnan has also supported research projects at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, affiliated with Harvard Medical School, and serves as a mentor to students at various high schools, fostering interest in healthcare careers among young people.

Dr. Ramakrishnan's contributions have been recognized with several honors, including being named one of the Best Pediatricians in Dallas by D Magazine in 2026 and receiving the Mom-Approved Pediatricians award from DFW Child magazine in 2025.

Outside her professional commitments, Dr. Ramakrishnan enjoys yoga, meditation, hiking and cooking—activities that reflect her holistic philosophy toward health and well-being. She is also devoted to her family life with three children. Looking ahead, her vision for Thrive Kids Foundation is centered on creating a healthier future for children by continuing to advance education, research and community engagement around pediatric health challenges.

Dr. Ramakrishnan is passionate about her work and emphasizes the importance of understanding true health. She believes it is crucial not only for individuals to grasp the fundamentals of true health for themselves but also to consider how they can positively impact future generations. Her focus is on raising awareness and providing education, as she believes many people know how to live healthy lives but struggle to put those ideas into practice. Ultimately, she argues that the responsibility lies with policymakers to implement and advocate for these beneficial visions.
