FAIRFIELD, CT, July 14, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ed Daingerfield has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Daingerfield currently serves as managing partner at Tidal River Capital, a role he has held since 2025. In this capacity, he manages mortgage originators specializing in Ginnie Mae multifamily bonds, including those related to apartment buildings and nursing homes. He collaborates with approximately half a dozen investors, expertly matching buyers and sellers within this specialized market. His focus on Ginnie Mae and Fannie Mae multifamily bonds underscores his deep expertise in multifamily mortgage finance and hedging, areas in which he is widely recognized for his proficiency.
Prior to founding Tidal River Capital, Mr. Daingerfield spent 11 years at Chimera Investment Corporation, a prominent mortgage real estate investment trust. From 2014 to 2025, he managed government-insured mortgages across a diverse range of properties and oversaw the company's comprehensive hedging strategies. His work at Chimera further solidified his reputation as an authority in agency mortgage-backed securities, commercial mortgage-backed securities and risk management.
From 1992 to 2014, Mr. Daingerfield served as managing director at several New York City primary dealers, where he specialized in multifamily securities, loans and hedging. During this period, he established multifamily operations at various firms, most notably at GMAC Commercial Mortgage. There, he was instrumental in managing and placing bonds for multifamily operations following GMAC's acquisition of two originators. His leadership in this area proved both impactful and lucrative until the 2008 financial crisis led to GMAC's dissolution.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Daingerfield held trading positions at Bear Stearns and Smith Barney, where he honed his skills in bond trading and portfolio management. Before entering the financial sector, he began his professional journey as a college English professor and later transitioned into financial writing. This unique combination of academic and analytical experience provided a strong foundation for his subsequent success on Wall Street.
Mr. Daingerfield's academic background includes a master's degree in educational psychology from Harvard University, earned in 1977, and a Bachelor of Arts in English and history from Rutgers University in 1975. The rigorous training he received at these institutions equipped him with critical thinking skills and a broad perspective that have been invaluable throughout his career. He credits much of his success to the flexibility and unique outlook shaped by his upbringing; growing up with a laborer father instilled in him a strong work ethic and the ability to relate to individuals from all backgrounds—qualities that have distinguished him among peers who often came from more privileged circumstances.
A respected member of the Mortgage Bankers Association, Mr. Daingerfield continues to contribute to the industry through his consulting work at Tidal River Capital. He is also known for his deep understanding of how multifamily government-insured mortgage programs evolve in response to changes in Congress and political administrations. This niche requires expertise not only in finance but also in macroeconomics and political environments.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Mr. Daingerfield enjoys playing jazz guitar. He is dedicated to his family, with three adult daughters and five grandchildren. Looking ahead, he aims to further develop his consulting business by expanding into the hedging sector, collaborating with lawyers as an expert witness and training younger professionals by drawing on his teaching experience.
Mr. Daingerfield's four-decade career on Wall Street stands as a testament to his adaptability, expertise, and enduring passion for the intersection of politics, economics, and finance in the multifamily mortgage sector.
