From 2007 to 2018 he served as a logistics supervisor at Darnall Medical Center in Fort Hood and from 2018 to 2023 at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Dallas, Texas. In this capacity, he was recognized as an expert in military hospital logistics and played a pivotal role in developing advanced tracking systems for supply management. Mr. Gutierrez's expertise was instrumental during his promotion interview when he articulated his approach to process improvement, an approach that ultimately secured him the position.

Earlier, Mr. Gutierrez held the role of supervisor general supply specialist at the Warrior Transition Brigade in Fort Hood between 2007 and 2013. Mr. Gutierrez's educational background included earning an associate's degree from an institution in Puerto Rico, a Central Texas College associate's degree in general studies and a Supply Chain Management Executive Education Certificate Program from The University of Texas at Austin. In addition to professional pursuits, Mr. Gutierrez is civically engaged as a member of the Killeen Music Friendly Committee under the Texas Music Friendly Program.
