In October of 2021, he and his team started the Supermodule project for Chevron Phillips Chemical Company in Baytown, which stands as his crowning professional achievement. This groundbreaking initiative involved modularizing a 48M cracking furnace into four major pre-assemblies and 17 modules, assembling them off-site, and transporting just under 6,000,000 lbs. to an active facility, an impressive logistical feat. The project's success was underscored by seven major industry awards from Engineering News-Record and the Associated Builders and Contractors, a safety award from Chevron Phillips Chemical Company, and an exemplary safety record of nearly 1.9 million safe work hours. Mr. Evans's pivotal role in this accomplishment earned him national recognition as one of Engineering News-Record's Top 25 Newsmakers for 2024.

Before being promoted to his current position, Mr. Evans was a senior project manager at PCL from 2018 to 2023. During the preceding two years, he held the role of project manager in Westlake, Louisiana, overseeing complex operations and ensuring project milestones were achieved with precision. His previous tenure as project manager in Freeport, Texas, for one year further solidified his reputation for operational excellence.

Between 2014 and 2016, Mr. Evans served as a project manager and project superintendent in Charleston, Tennessee, for PCL. His transition to the company was facilitated by a strong client relationship with Wacker Polysilicon North America, LLC, which he developed while working as a sub-project manager at Yates Construction from 2011 to 2013. During this period, he managed three separate projects and demonstrated unwavering commitment by honoring client requests before joining PCL in August 2013. His initial assignment with PCL as a project manager in Roxboro, North Carolina, from 2013 to 2014, showcased his ability to quickly integrate into new teams and deliver immediate value.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Evans was a technical specialist and construction manager at Mesa Technical Services in Decatur, Alabama, and a site manager and National Center for Construction Education and Research instructor at Lauren Engineers & Constructors from 2009 to 2011. He also held several other supervisory roles at Lauren Engineers & Constructors, Construction Engineers LLC, and MEI LLC. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he gained foundational experience in construction and engineering at PROMEK Inc. Fluor, IMOCO, DMT Inc. and BE&K.

Throughout his career progression, from advancing through the trades to early management on the piping and mechanical side, Mr. Evans developed a technical forte that set him apart within the industry. He initially struggled with a strict leadership style but evolved into a leader who values listening, supporting team members with necessary resources and treating mistakes as learning opportunities.

Mr. Evans's educational background includes coursework toward a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on project management at Columbia Southern University. Recognizing the importance of targeted professional development over a formal degree for his career path, he earned multiple certifications, including Field Safety, Construction Site Safety Technician, and Construction Site Safety Supervisor, all from the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), along with numerous other credentials.

A significant influence on Mr. Evans's professional foundation was his father, who was a former superintendent and pipefitter raised at Bethesda Boys Home, a residential boys home in Savannah, Georgia. He modeled steady-handed fairness despite limited formal education. While his father preferred hands-on trade work over paperwork-driven management roles that became prevalent during the evolution of industrial construction, Mr. Evans blended these traditional methods with modern technical training to establish himself as an industry leader.

Mr. Evans has also served as a qualifying agent for multiple companies since 2001 for his employers' general contractor licenses across several states, including Alaska, Louisiana, Tennessee, Virginia and Alabama, and is currently working toward securing licensure in Florida. His professional accomplishments have been recognized both within organizations and across the industry. In addition to being named among Engineering News-Record's Top 25 Newsmakers for work, he was highlighted by features such as "Crews Takes Modular To New Levels" and "Supermodule Project Proves a Moving Experience," both in ENR Magazine. He also received the Robert Stollery Leadership Award as district winner at PCL Construction Inc. in 2017.

Beyond his technical achievements, Mr. Evans is civically engaged through company-sponsored United Way initiatives, where he participates actively in fundraising events, such as sporting clay shoots and golf tournaments, leveraging professional networks to generate financial contributions while strengthening business relationships.

In his personal life, Mr. Evans enjoys hunting big game and exotic animals, a passion that has recently shifted focus to managing wild hog populations through hunting and trapping efforts primarily in Texas, with an emphasis on processing harvested meat for community benefit. He is supported by his wife, Pamela Evans, along with three biological children, three stepchildren and 12 grandchildren, one of whom is following his example by working within the construction industry.
