Prior to joining Luther Park at Sandpoint, Ms. Whitmyer was the executive director at South Hill Village, Pegasus Senior Living in Spokane, Washington, from 2024 to 2025. There, she had the same mission of transforming senior living communities into thriving environments by boosting occupancy rates and staff morale. For the preceding two years, she held the same role at Brookdale Senior Living Inc. in Newberg, Oregon.

Ms. Whitmyer's earlier positions include serving as the executive director at Westmont Living from 2019 to 2022 and as administrator at Clatsop Memory Care within Clatsop Care Health District from 2018 to 2019. She was also the administrator at the Garden Plaza with Century Park Associates for two years after beginning her journey in senior living as an administrative professional at Creekside Inn Memory Care with Koelsch Communities from 2014 to 2016.

Before transitioning into senior care, Ms. Whitmyer worked in corrections for six years. From 2005 to 2008, she served as a segregation officer with CoreCivic in Florence, Arizona, where she was recognized as the first female in seven years to work in segregation and eventually advanced to sergeant.

Throughout her career, Ms. Whitmyer has become widely recognized for her ability to help communities increase profitability through high occupancy rates while simultaneously boosting staff morale. Her dedication has led to significant improvements in each facility she has managed and earned her recognition across three states for transforming facilities into successful communities.

Ms. Whitmyer's professional achievements have been highlighted by her feature in Go Sandpoint Magazine's article "Luther Park at Sandpoint: A Community of Choice and Care." Additionally, she is an active member of several industry organizations, including BNI Global LLC, Idaho Health Care Association, Oregon Health Care Association and Washington Health Care Association, and is the chapter founder of Women In Business in Sandpoint.

Educationally, Ms. Whitmyer's background includes coursework in child development at Cuyamaca College in El Cajon, California. Today, she holds certifications as a residential care facility administrator from the Oregon Department of Human Services and as a residential care facility executive from the State of Idaho.

Reflecting on her career, Ms. Whitmyer attributes much of her success to personal experiences caring for family members who resided in senior living facilities. Her deep empathy stems from understanding both the caregiver's perspective and that of a family member navigating difficult decisions about loved ones' care. Ms. Whitmyer's entry into senior living was inspired by her uncle's diagnosis with Alzheimer's disease—a pivotal moment that led her from a law enforcement background into caregiving. After assisting with his care at home and searching extensively for an appropriate facility, she discovered a passion for memory care and hospice work that continues to drive her today.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, Ms. Whitmyer serves as the vice president of One More Time, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fulfilling wishes for individuals nearing the end of their lives. The organization creates meaningful experiences such as family vacations or special outings for seniors—including veterans—helping them create lasting memories with loved ones. One More Time also produces legacy videos for families and raises funds throughout the year for various nonprofits within the community.

Ms. Whitmyer's contributions have been recognized with several awards, including the Momentum Google Award in 2026 and two-time honors as Best in Bonner County. In her personal life, she enjoys engaging with the community, spending time outdoors with family and friends and supporting local initiatives.
