Since 2016, she has served as the senior program manager at the World Bank, where she serves as the client liaison for business and industry food service operations. In this role, Ms. Eliatamby manages contracts, ensures the needs of Bank staff are met, oversees vendor service delivery and monitors vendor performance to maintain high standards and to prevent misuse. She also participates in capital budget improvement project meetings, leads daily team huddles, conducts food tastings within the Bank's dining facility to ensure quality and authenticity of cuisine, since over 180 countries are represented at the World Bank. In addition, she coordinates events for culturally significant occasions. Ms. Eliatamby's strong operational management skills and dedication to culture have been instrumental in fostering an inclusive environment at the World Bank.

From 2006 to 2016, Ms. Eliatamby held the position of food services officer at the World Bank. In this role, she was responsible for ensuring high standards in food service operations and supporting the organization's mission by providing exceptional hospitality services to staff and visitors from around the world.

Ms. Eliatamby excelled as the director of food and beverage at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center for 10 years. There, she led the division responsible for all food and beverage operations, overseeing a diverse team and managing large-scale events. Ms. Eliatamby's leadership was marked by a focus on quality service delivery and operational excellence, which contributed to the venue's reputation as a premier destination for international conferences and events.

Ms. Eliatamby's educational journey began at age 18 when she left Malaysia for Switzerland to study hotel and restaurant management at Hotelonsult and Cesar Ritz. Immersed in a new culture and language, she completed coursework that combined academic study with hands-on internships, an experience that required her to learn German within six months and work in environments where English was not spoken. This formative period instilled resilience and adaptability that would define Ms. Eliatamby's career.

In 1989, Ms. Eliatamby immigrated to the U.S. at her grandfather's and mother's encouragement, who recognized the value of American business management programs. She enrolled at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, earning a Bachelor of Science in hospitality management in 1991. Ms. Eliatamby's academic training provided a solid foundation for her subsequent achievements in hospitality operations and management.

Ms. Eliatamby's influence extends beyond her professional roles. She made history as the first Asian woman to serve as the president of the Society for Hospitality and Foodservice Management (SHFM), an association with nearly 1,000 members. Her election to this position followed active participation in various committees and board service, culminating in her recognition as a strong presidential candidate within just two years of joining the board. During her tenure, Ms. Eliatamby played a pivotal role in launching the organization's speakers' bureau, further amplifying her impact on industry thought leadership.

Among other professional involvements, Ms. Eliatamby serves as an advisory council member for IFMA, The Food Away from Home Association, Kinetic 12 Onsite Collaborative Innovation Group and board trustee for Change Please USA, focused on social impact through coffee enterprise initiatives empowering people experiencing homelessness by training them as baristas – giving them support, job prospects, and self belief they need to thrive. Her commitment to advancing the field is reflected in her ongoing engagement with these organizations.

Additionally, she was a board member and is now an advisory council member of Asian American Leadership Empowerment and Development, which provides educational empowerment, identity development, and leadership opportunities for underserved Asian Pacific American youth.

Throughout her career, Ms. Eliatamby has demonstrated resilience and adaptability, qualities that became especially vital during the COVID-19 pandemic. She became a sought-after leader for her ability to guide teams through uncertainty without losing momentum. Ms. Eliatamby's leadership style is characterized by transparency, humility and a strong emphasis on teamwork. She openly acknowledges mistakes, gives credit where it is due, and fosters an environment where collective achievement is celebrated above individual recognition. Ms. Eliatamby credits much of her success to her mother, who is her strongest advocate and greatest source of inspiration. Ms. Eliatamby's professional accomplishments have been recognized through numerous accolades for exceptional service performance. She is the recipient of the President's Award and Director's Award for Leadership from SHFM. Her dedication and commitment to the industry have also been acknowledged with the 2023 Silver Plate award for Best Food Service Operator from IFMA. Most recently, she received the 2026 Top Achiever Operator award from Foodservice Equipment & Supplies Magazine. In addition, she was honored with an Honorary Doctorate in foodservice from the North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers.

Looking ahead, Ms. Eliatamby remains committed to giving back by mentoring young professionals who aspire to build careers in the hospitality industry. She hopes to teach hospitality and share her knowledge and experience with the next generation.
