BURLESON, TX, July 17, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Audrey C. Mathis has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Demonstrating an unwavering passion for her craft and a disciplined approach to her daily routine, Ms. Mathis has quickly built a reputation as an influential freelance writer under her own name since 2023. Each morning, she begins by caring for her two dogs and two cats, walking them across her property before transitioning to her office. There, she reviews professional emails and monitors social media platforms such as Facebook, ensuring she remains connected with her audience and the broader writing community. Her workday is structured around dedicated writing sessions and punctuated by a midday lunch break, after which she resumes her creative efforts for the remainder of the day.

A significant milestone in Ms. Mathis' writing career is the publication of her book, "That Something Inside: From childhood abuse and near-death to becoming a Master of Karate and Stuntwoman," released by Platypus Publishing in 2026. This work, written for all those struggling to follow their dreams, stands as a testament to the resilience of Maria Doest, the subject of this book, and to Audrey's ability to translate personal experiences into equally compelling and emotional narratives. In addition to authoring this book, she recently completed a screenplay in collaboration with a co-writer; the project has been entered into several contests and is being developed with the goal of producing it as a television pilot and series.

Prior to embarking on her writing journey, Ms. Mathis built an extensive career in mortgage financing for three decades at various companies, including Bank of America and BSI Financial. During this period, she spent approximately 15 years as a manager in various capacities, earning numerous awards and honors for her exemplary leadership and performance. Her decision to pursue literature full time followed the relocation of company operations overseas, which resulted in the layoff of many U.S. employees and ultimately allowed her to pivot toward her longstanding passion for writing.

Earlier in her professional life, during her mid-20s and 30s, Ms. Mathis worked as a stuntwoman in regional Texas productions based in Austin, Dallas, and Fort Worth. Her credits include contributions to the classic American television series "Walker, Texas Ranger" as well as performing in accident reenactments for private productions outside mainstream film circles. This unique experience not only showcased her physical prowess but also provided rich material for her later creative endeavors.

Ms. Mathis' academic background includes earning a bachelor's degree in fine arts with a minor in English from the University of North Texas, with the combination of artistic training and literary study helping to shape both her narrative voice and creative perspective. Reflecting on her storied journey to date, she attributes much of her success across multiple disciplines to guidance from mentors and intentionally surrounding herself with accomplished professionals who inspire and challenge her.

Also known for her participation in civic and community activities, Ms. Mathis attends a writers' group twice each month, engaging with peers to exchange ideas and refine her craft. Furthermore, she volunteers with Meals on Wheels America, delivering food to those in need within her community and exemplifying an outstanding commitment to service.

A proud mother of two adult children, Ms. Mathis enjoys playing pickleball twice weekly, practicing karate and spending quality time with her family and friends. Determined to further her impact in the writing and publishing sector, she is building a business that specializes in ghostwriting personal histories, biographies, autobiographies and family stories while also creating custom photo books designed to preserve clients' histories. Her creative endeavors epitomize an enduring legacy of continuous growth, artistic expression, and helping others through everything she does — both in her written works and beyond.
