WINTER GARDEN, FL, July 21, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kelley E. Sherwood, APRN, CDE, CPT, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Since 2014, Mrs. Sherwood has also held the roles of nurse practitioner, diabetes educator and pump trainer, as well as vice president of Mid Florida Endocrine in Winter Garden, Florida. In this capacity, she is responsible for both direct patient care and a significant portion of the organization's administrative operations. Her expertise in endocrine disorders, diabetes education and insulin pump training is widely recognized.
Notably, Mrs. Sherwood earned the distinction of diamond educator 15 years ago — a testament to her exceptional skill in teaching and communicating complex medical concepts. Over time, she has worked to transform her initial apprehension about public speaking into a strength, now excelling in clear and effective communication in both educational settings and patient interactions.
From 2012 to 2015, Mrs. Sherwood contributed her skills as a nurse practitioner treating all endocrine disorders, diabetes education and insulin pump training at Health Central Hospital under the Orlando Health umbrella. During this time, she was pivotal in endocrinology disorders, advancing diabetes management protocols and supporting patients through individualized care plans and self-management techniques.
Mrs. Sherwood's earlier experience includes serving from 2010 to 2012 as a registered nurse specializing in diabetes education and clinical sales with Medtronic in Orlando. Successfully bridging clinical practice with sales and innovative medical technologies, she greatly enhanced patient outcomes through advanced device training programs.
Working as a registered nurse, diabetes educator and pump trainer at the Diabetes and Endocrine Center of Orlando for four years, Mrs. Sherwood provided comprehensive education to patients who were newly diagnosed with diabetes, guiding them through best practices in dietary changes, lifestyle modifications and medication administration.
Mrs. Sherwood began her professional healthcare journey with two years as a registered nurse and certified diabetes educator at Diabetes and Endocrine Associates, where she gained valuable clinical experience while monitoring, assessing and implementing best practices regarding patients' blood glucose levels and performing endocrine testing. Committed to staying at the forefront of advancements in endocrine health and diabetes management, she continues to hold active memberships with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as well as the American Diabetes Association.
Hailing from an equally accomplished academic background, Mrs. Sherwood earned a Master of Science as a nurse practitioner after completing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, both from the University of Central Florida. She also holds an associate degree in nursing from Indian River State College and an associate degree in psychology from Santa Fe Community College. Recently accepted into a doctoral program as well, she is a proponent of the ideals of lifelong learning — a passion inspired by her family's educational achievements, including her sister's doctorate in microbiology.
To augment her ability to deliver high-quality care to patients and families, Mrs. Sherwood is an expert in all endocrine diseases. She is a certified diabetes educator and is informed as an insulin pump and continuous glucose trainer.
Also known for her civic-minded contributions, Mrs. Sherwood has donated to causes such as The American National Red Cross, American Diabetes Association, and Planned Parenthood Federation of America, reflecting her broader commitment to community well-being.
On a personal level, Mrs. Sherwood greatly values close connections with her family; she maintains daily contact with her parents as well as her younger sister, who teaches college-level microbiology in Jacksonville. Happily married and a proud mother of one, she is devoted to her daughter Reagan and grandson Kai, cherishing the time they spend together alongside her miniature schnauzer and two cats.
Determined to further her impact in the coming years, Mrs. Sherwood is considering additional academic pursuits at the doctoral level while continuing to prioritize private practice over hospital-based roles due to her preference for personalized patient care. She remains dedicated to fostering strong relationships with the patients and families she serves by ensuring that each appointment receives ample time and individualized attention — a hallmark of the approach that distinguishes her within the field of endocrine health care, the Winter Garden community and beyond.
