SEATTLE, WA, August 05, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Shela C. Meneses has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Meneses has dedicated more than two decades to early childhood education, shaping the lives of countless young learners as a pre-K lead teacher at Ballard First Lutheran Child Care in Seattle since 2002. In this capacity, she supervises all children under her care, teaching foundational reading and writing skills while introducing basic arithmetic concepts such as addition and subtraction. Her approach emphasizes fostering a passion for learning, developing social skills and supporting children through critical developmental milestones.
In addition to her core teaching responsibilities, Ms. Meneses is known for creating engaging lesson plans that blend play with academic content, utilizing puppetry and interactive games to enhance instruction. She integrates subjects like math and science through creative teaching methods, closely monitoring student engagement to ensure effective learning outcomes. By continually evaluating and adapting her teaching strategies based on individual student needs, she maintains a playful yet supportive classroom environment.
Throughout her tenure, Ms. Meneses has become an expert in teaching children, curriculum development, building relationships with students, parent engagement and collaborative work with colleagues. Her expertise is further demonstrated by her active membership in the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families, reflecting her commitment to professional standards and ongoing development within the field.
A hallmark of Ms. Meneses' career is her dedication to celebrating student achievements and fostering meaningful connections with families. She recalls moments of immense pride during graduation ceremonies, such as witnessing her 4- and 5-year-old students perform challenging songs like "The Greatest Love of All" and "The Wind Beneath My Wings." These performances not only showcased the children's talents but also moved parents to tears, underscoring the profound impact of her guidance. Many of her former students have gone on to attend prestigious universities such as Stanford University and often return to express gratitude for the strong educational foundation she provided.
In addition to her career in early childhood education, Ms. Meneses has gained valuable professional experience across several industries. She began her career as an administrative technician with the Bonneville Power Administration in 1999, before transitioning into the financial sector, where she spent two years as a financial advisor with Wells Fargo from 1998 to 2000. Her career path later took a philanthropic turn as well, when she volunteered in website administrative management for Micro Wireless from 2023 to 2025.
Ms. Meneses' academic accomplishments are equally distinguished. She earned a Master of Arts in business from American Public University System in 2025 and a Master of Education from Eastern Washington University in 2022, graduating with a perfect 4.0 grade point average in both programs. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in business management from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science in early childhood education from Ashworth College.
Notably, Ms. Meneses' academic excellence has been recognized through repeated inclusion on the president's list and membership in a lifetime honor society. She achieved these milestones while working full-time as an educator, demonstrating exceptional dedication to personal growth and professional advancement.
Reflecting on her career, Ms. Meneses attributes her success to continuous self-education and the mentorship and support of her parents, who guide her on career and life decisions. She encourages others to pursue their dreams rather than settle for less. A self-described high achiever and hard worker, she has faced her share of challenges — including colleagues who discouraged her efforts to better herself — but remains undeterred, staying focused on her goals with unwavering determination.
Inspired by her mother's legacy as an elementary school teacher in the Philippines for over 21 years, Ms. Meneses entered the field determined to serve as a positive role model for young people. Born in the Philippines before immigrating to the United States and becoming an American citizen, Ms. Meneses enjoys writing poetry, studying, singing karaoke, reading, watching martial arts movies and documentaries, and caring for her two Chihuahuas.
Looking ahead, Ms. Meneses plans to pursue a Doctorate of Education beginning in September with aspirations to expand her influence beyond early childhood education by mentoring university students and guiding future educators and leaders through advanced scholarship and practical experience.
