For Mr. Galli, this outcome felt like a failure of justice. It planted a seed, one that would grow into a lifelong commitment to ensuring accountability within the legal system.

Determined to make a difference, Mr. Galli pursued higher education with focus and purpose. He earned an Associate of Arts in History with honors from Foothill Community College, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in political science and government from the University of San Francisco, graduating cum laude. He then went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1983. During this time, he also gained hands-on experience as a certified law student intern at the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office.

In 1984, Mr. Galli officially began his career as a deputy district attorney in Santa Clara County, a position he would hold for nearly four decades. Over the years, he served in numerous specialized units, from narcotics and economic crimes to appeals and welfare fraud. He also served as the assistant supervisor of the narcotics unit, the first supervisor of the asset forfeiture unit, where he tried nine cases and won them all, and the supervisor of the welfare fraud unit. His career reflected both breadth and depth, but one area stood above the rest: search and seizure law.

Mr. Galli became a recognized authority in Fourth Amendment law, particularly in the area of search warrants. Over the course of his career, he authored more than 2,200 search warrants, losing only one due to circumstances beyond his control. This remarkable record stands as a testament to his precision, dedication, and deep understanding of constitutional law.

Beyond the courtroom, Mr. Galli extended his impact through teaching and writing. He trained law enforcement officers, investigators, and fellow prosecutors across California, instructing on topics such as search warrant drafting, informants, and constitutional protections. His role as an educator became just as important as his work as a prosecutor.

He also authored numerous legal publications, including the widely respected "Search Warrant Law & Practice Manual," a comprehensive guide used by law enforcement professionals. Since 2009, Mr. Galli has served as the primary author of this manual, continuously updating it to reflect evolving legal standards. His work on the sixth edition, a project involving hundreds of hours of unpaid effort, reflects his ongoing commitment to the profession, even after retirement.
Mr. Galli's contributions did not go unnoticed. Over the years, he received numerous honors, including Prosecutor of the Year, Author of the Year, and multiple lifetime achievement awards. Following a serious health scare involving three brain hemorrhages and five hours of brain surgery, he made significant lifestyle changes, demonstrating the same determination in his personal life that he showed in his career.

Despite these challenges, Mr. Galli has remained committed to giving back. He supports charitable organizations, contributes to food banks, and continues to volunteer his time to improve the legal system. For him, success is not just measured in achievements, but in the positive impact he has on others.
