In 2026, Mr. Quigley assumed the role of chief strategic relations officer at AIRSYS Cooling Technologies Inc., where he focuses on executive relationships, strategic partnerships, industry engagement and long-range infrastructure strategy. He works closely with customers, technology partners, engineering teams and industry leaders as AIRSYS expands its position in mission-critical cooling, liquid cooling, modular infrastructure and next-generation data center design.
Before becoming chief strategic relations officer, Mr. Quigley served as president of AIRSYS Cooling Technologies Inc. from 2021 to 2026. During his tenure, he helped guide the company through a period of major transformation as AIRSYS strengthened its presence in the North American data center and mission-critical infrastructure markets. Under his leadership, the company expanded its visibility with hyperscale, colocation, telecommunications and AI infrastructure customers while advancing its position as a manufacturer capable of addressing the thermal challenges created by high-density compute.
A defining contribution of Mr. Quigley's recent work has been his role in co-developing and advocating for Power Compute Effectiveness, or PCE. PCE is defined as provisioned power for compute divided by provisioned total data center power. Unlike Power Usage Effectiveness, or PUE, which measures efficiency, PCE measures effectiveness by identifying how much of a facility's provisioned power is physically allocated to compute.
This distinction has become increasingly important as AI workloads reshape the economics and physics of data center design. A facility can have an attractive PUE and still fail to allocate enough of its provisioned power to compute. PCE exposes that gap. It gives owners, operators, investors, utilities and communities a clearer way to understand whether data center infrastructure is maximizing usable compute capacity within real-world power constraints.
Mr. Quigley's work on PCE reflects a broader belief that the data center industry needs better language, better metrics and more honest conversations. The AI infrastructure boom cannot be solved by slogans. It requires disciplined engineering, responsible design, practical investment and a clearer understanding of how power becomes compute. His advocacy for PCE has become part of his larger effort to help the industry move beyond narrow efficiency claims and toward a fuller understanding of infrastructure effectiveness.
Mr. Quigley is also a co-author of *Greener Data*, an Amazon best-selling book focused on the future of sustainable data centers. His contribution to the book aligns with the central question that has shaped much of his recent career: how can the world continue building the digital infrastructure it needs while using energy and water more responsibly?
That question has also informed his advocacy for water-conscious data center design, including zero-WUE approaches where facilities can reject heat without consuming water during normal operation. As communities, utilities and regulators scrutinize new data center development, Mr. Quigley has emphasized that the industry must be able to explain not only how much power it uses, but how effectively that power is converted into compute and how responsibly the resulting heat is managed.
He has also been a strong voice for practical heat reuse. Rather than viewing expelled heat as a nuisance, Mr. Quigley sees it as an underutilized energy stream that may help offset heating demand for buildings, campuses, resorts and industrial facilities where the supporting infrastructure and economics allow. His position is direct: the industry should not pretend that reuse is free or effortless, but it should be far more serious about capturing value from energy that would otherwise be rejected into the environment.
Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mr. Quigley entered the heating, ventilation and air conditioning industry after graduating from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in English with an emphasis on business communications in 1990. Although his path into HVAC began by chance, he quickly found that the industry rewarded curiosity, persistence, technical discipline and the ability to communicate clearly.
His communications background became one of the defining strengths of his career. Inspired in part by Lee Iacocca's belief that communication is essential in any profession, Mr. Quigley has spent much of his professional life translating complex technical concepts into practical business language. Whether working with engineers, customers, executives, investors or public audiences, he has focused on making complicated infrastructure issues understandable without oversimplifying them.
Before joining AIRSYS Cooling Technologies Inc., Mr. Quigley served as senior vice president of sales and marketing at Bard HVAC, where his responsibilities included sales strategy, market development and new product development. He also held regional leadership roles with Goodman and Excelsior Manufacturing and Supply Corporation, building a strong foundation in manufacturing, channel strategy, customer relationships and applied HVAC markets.
Mr. Quigley attributes much of his success to listening before prescribing solutions. Guided by the principle that "prescription before diagnosis is malpractice," he has built his career around understanding the real problem before recommending an answer. That approach has shaped his leadership in sales, manufacturing, customer strategy, product positioning and executive management.
His achievements have earned recognition within the data center industry, including recognition among leading data center influencers. Yet Mr. Quigley views the work ahead as more important than the recognition behind him. As AI increases demand for power and cooling, he remains focused on helping the industry find better ways to allocate energy to compute, reduce unnecessary losses, conserve water and move heat with greater purpose.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Quigley cherishes spending time with his wife of 37 years, Eve. He is a devoted father of four and enjoys rebuilding motorcycles and teaching science to his grandchildren.
