Since 2024, he has served as the associate dean of the Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies, where his responsibilities have expanded following a recent restructuring of the college. In this multifaceted role, Dr. Houseworth oversees a diverse portfolio that includes a business school, an airport supporting a major pilot training program, and programs in criminal justice, Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps, human services, communication disorders, and social work. Notably, the college manages eight accreditations and operates multiple clinics within its communication disorders program.

Recognized for upskilling current employees, Dr. Houseworth excels at navigating executive channels to advocate for investment in university initiatives and providing comprehensive training and development programs across various skill sets. He is also lauded for ensuring products and services are created efficiently while maintaining or improving quality, drawing on experience and research to benefit both faculty and students.

In addition to his administrative duties, Dr. Houseworth has been an associate professor of management at the University of Central Missouri since 2021. His expertise encompasses technology management, human resource development, industrial training, and investment analysis for training programs, significantly contributing to his success in academia. Dr. Houseworth is highly regarded for his ability to deliver comprehensive training and development on a wide range of skill sets.

From 2022 to 2024, Dr. Houseworth served as a department chair at the University of Central Missouri, overseeing academic programs such as management, marketing, public relations, and sport management. His leadership during this period was instrumental in fostering faculty development and maintaining strong research activity while prioritizing outstanding teaching, a core mission of the institution.

During the first half of 2022, Dr. Houseworth served as interim assistant dean at the Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies, further broadening his administrative experience. He began his tenure-track faculty career as an assistant professor of management from 2012 to 2021. During this time, Dr. Houseworth contributed significantly to curriculum development, research, and student engagement initiatives.

Before his full-time faculty appointment, Dr. Houseworth served as enrollment services coordinator and instructor for the School of Business Administration from 2008 to 2012. In this capacity, he managed enrollment processes focused on recruitment and retention. Dr. Houseworth also taught Introduction to Business, introducing 125 first-year students annually to foundational business concepts and serving as a key point of contact for prospective students interested in business disciplines.

Dr. Houseworth's professional journey began as an admissions representative at the University of Central Missouri from 2006 to 2008. In this role, he recruited students from across the Midwest region and played a pivotal part in the university's recruitment and retention strategies. Earlier in 2006, he worked as a graduate assistant on campus at the University Store.

Dr. Houseworth's academic credentials are extensive. He attended the University of Central Missouri, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing in 2005 and a Master of Business Administration in marketing in 2008. Additionally, he acquired a Doctor of Philosophy in technology management with concentrations in human resource development and industrial training development from Indiana State University in Terre Haute in 2020. In addition to his degrees, Dr. Houseworth holds Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt certifications from the University of Kansas and completed the People First Leadership development program through Blue Tile University.

Actively involved with professional organizations, Dr. Houseworth is affiliated with the College Relations Committee for the Society of Human Resource Management Kansas City and the American Society for Quality, reflecting his ongoing commitment to advancing best practices in human resources and quality management. Civic engagement is also central to Dr. Houseworth's philosophy. He serves as a district chairman and state chairman-elect for Missouri Ducks Unlimited. He has been honored with seven Mallard Flight Awards, received a Chairman's Award of Merit in 2020, and was named Family of the Year by the State of Missouri in 2026. He is also a life sponsor, having donated $25,000 to support conservation efforts.

Dr. Houseworth's scholarly output is extensive and has included co-authorship on several peer-reviewed publications, including the International Journal of Business and Management Research, the Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education, the International Journal of Management Education, and, among others, the Journal on Excellence in College Teaching. He has covered a wide range of topics, including employee engagement, distance learning, and human resources as it relates to higher education.

Throughout his career, Dr. Houseworth has demonstrated exceptional dedication to co-curricular activities. One of his most memorable achievements was serving as a senior faculty advisor for the Collegiate DECA program for more than 15 years. Under his guidance, hundreds of students participated in national competitions involving case-study analyses and presentations across business disciplines. Many were first-generation college students from rural communities who achieved top placements against peers from larger institutions nationwide. Notably, Dr. Houseworth was honored three times as the National Adviser of the Year between 2010 and 2019 and received several state awards recognizing these collective accomplishments.

Dr. Houseworth attributes his success to perseverance, a value instilled by his parents during childhood, and an unwavering passion for learning and embracing new challenges.
