DAYTON, WY, July 28, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Laurie Walters-Clark has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Walters-Clark recently concluded a distinguished professional journey as an environmental planner with the United States Forest Service, a role she held for six years until her retirement. Over the course of approximately 35 years with the agency, she was recognized for her ability to engage with stakeholders, identify community and environmental needs and conduct thorough research to determine effective solutions. Her tenure at the United States Forest Service was marked by a commitment to public service and environmental stewardship, consistently seeking input from diverse groups to inform planning and decision-making processes.

Following her retirement, Ms. Walters-Clark has remained deeply involved in civic life within Dayton. She currently volunteers on the planning committee for the municipality, where she conducts research to assist council members in developing and refining zoning ordinances, thereby streamlining their workload and supporting informed governance. Additionally, she contributes her expertise to the parks committee, focusing on long-term planning for tree and equipment replacement in local parks. Among her most significant achievements in this capacity is securing a $22,000 grant from the Dayton Recreation District, which enabled the replacement of outdated playground equipment in Dayton's park—a project that has had a lasting impact on the community's recreational resources.

Ms. Walters-Clark's dedication to service extends to several philanthropic organizations. She is an active member and officer of P.E.O. International, a philanthropic organization committed to raising funds that help women return to school and pursue higher education. Her leadership is further demonstrated through her role as president of the Dayton School Benefit Club, which supports residents of the Tongue River Valley and students at Tongue River Valley School by providing scholarships and maintaining a historic building that serves as an event venue for the community.

Academically, Ms. Walters-Clark's foundation was laid at Oklahoma State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in 1980. Beyond her formal education, she attributes much of her success to her upbringing and the unwavering support of her family and husband, which have provided both inspiration and encouragement throughout her professional and civic endeavors.

In addition to her professional and volunteer commitments, Ms. Walters-Clark enjoys visiting national parks and national forests, hiking, reading and spending time with her daughter. Looking ahead, she aims to further explore national parks and is currently running for a four-year term on the Dayton Town Council, aspiring to continue her legacy of service within her community. She encourages others to continue pushing forward and to not give up, believing that no one is too old to pursue their goals.
