Drawing from her doctoral research on growth mindset perceptions and academic achievement, she has integrated her expertise into a comprehensive program that serves both families and educators. After countless years of personal and professional development, she launched the nonprofit to share her story and knowledge with the broader community while providing practical tools for growth and resilience.

Since 2025, Dr. Bishop has also contributed as a team building and leadership development facilitator at Better Humans, LLC, a Kansas City-based experiential learning company. In this role, she supports, designs and leads workshops focused on enhancing organizational culture, fostering collaboration and nurturing leadership skills among diverse teams.

From 2024 to 2026, Dr. Bishop held the position of senior career coach and organizational systems developer at NCLab Inc. in Reno, where she played a pivotal role in coaching adults through career transitions. Emphasizing critical thinking, problem solving, resume writing and interview preparation while designing systems for multi-tiered systems of support, her efforts led to the creation of an online platform offering educational resources that connect parents and educators in meaningful ways.

Dr. Bishop also gained administrative experience in the role of principal at North Kansas City Schools, where she served from 2022 to 2024. During this time, she oversaw school operations, implemented strategic initiatives with a focus on at-risk students and oversaw services for more than 1,100 families throughout the community. Her earlier experience in North Kansas City includes serving as a teaching and learning coach for four years, during which she mentored educators by sharing best practices in pedagogy, curriculum design and student-centered implementation.

From 2020 to 2022, Dr. Bishop excelled as assistant principal within the Park Hill School District in Kansas City, contributing to administrative decision-making processes and serving adults who served children toward both professional and personal growth.

Dr. Bishop began her career as a kindergarten classroom teacher at North Kansas City Schools. During this time, her classroom was selected as a demonstration classroom — a distinction that allowed other educators to observe her teaching methods — which ultimately sparked her passion for adult learning and set the stage for her transition into coaching and leadership.

Hailing from an equally accomplished academic background, Dr. Bishop earned a Doctor of Education in educational leadership from William Woods University in 2023, graduating magna cum laude. Her influential dissertation — "Growth Mindset: An Analysis of Self-Described Mindset and Academic Achievement," which explored how student perceptions of growth-minded adults influence one's academic outcomes — would become a central theme of her later work with the Yes, AND Foundation.

Additionally, Dr. Bishop began her coursework toward a Doctor of Education in teaching and learning with an emphasis on adult learning at Grand Canyon University in 2019, further deepening her understanding of adult learning principles and processes (adult andragogy). The year before that, she obtained a master's degree in educational leadership and administration from Northwest Missouri State University with magna cum laude honors. She began her higher education with a Bachelor of Arts in early childhood education and teaching from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, awarded in 2012.

Reflecting on her storied journey to date, Dr. Bishop attributes her success to maintaining a growth mindset — the belief that one's abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work — and reframing challenges as opportunities for learning rather than obstacles. Her commitment to excellence as both a student and professional has been recognized through several accolades over the years.

Born and raised in Kansas City, Dr. Bishop's personal experiences have profoundly shaped her mission. As a neurodivergent individual living with a combined type Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)/Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and distinct Gifted Characteristics, she brings unique insights into the challenges faced by neurodivergent families. Her passion for reading and writing is fueled by more deeply understanding her own brain and her family's unique needs. The family she shares with her high school sweetheart and husband of 19 years, John, as well as their two neurodivergent sons.

Outside of her work pursuits, Dr. Bishop enjoys spending time outdoors (swimming, boating, fishing) with her loved ones and engaging in activities that foster connection. She and her family are currently building their permanent home on acreage in the Kansas City area, demonstrating their commitment to rooting both family life and professional endeavors within the community.

Looking toward the future, Dr. Bishop envisions expanding the Yes, AND Foundation's reach by increasing team capacity and scaling its impact from coaching hundreds to potentially thousands of individuals each year. She aims for the organization to become fully sustainable while continuing to give back directly to public schools in Kansas City, particularly through innovative programming designed to support children's developmental pathways without exhausting families or educators.
