PEWAUKEE, WI, July 31, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tiffany A. Lucas, PE, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. Ms. Lucas is currently serving as the senior materials development engineer at GE Vernova. She has led a distinguished career in the field of materials science engineering. In her role, she leads research and development initiatives, oversees material selection and failure analysis and manages the comprehensive testing of materials and components. Her expertise of over 20 years is integral to the design and testing of large power transformers for high-voltage applications, including power plants, data centers and substations.

Beyond her responsibilities at Prolec GE, Ms. Lucas plays an active leadership role within the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). She is a senior member of the IEEE Power & Energy Society Transformers Committee, which develops and maintains standards that support the global power industry. Since 2019, she has also contributed as a member of the IEEE Standards Association Committee, helping guide the development of industry standards that enhance the safety, performance, and compatibility of power systems worldwide.

From 2015 to 2020, Ms. Lucas was a materials engineer at Engineering Systems Inc. in Madison, Wisconsin, where she contributed to failure analysis and consulting services for clients in the legal, industrial and insurance sectors. Concurrently, she held the role of materials engineer at Harley-Davidson Motor Company from 2016 to 2018, focusing on the evaluation and improvement of materials used in manufacturing processes.

Prior to joining Engineering Systems, Ms. Lucas served as an electron microscopy instructor at Madison College from 2012 to 2015, where she shared her knowledge in advanced scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, failure analysis, laboratory sample preparation, mechanical design and mathematics courses to students pursuing careers in electron microscopy and engineering.

Ms. Lucas' earlier experience includes her tenure as a metallurgical project engineer at Kohler Company from 2003 to 2010. During this period, she spearheaded a landmark project that converted a challenging faucet design from traditional brass casting containing lead into a hydroformed product that was entirely lead free. Through carefully managed tooling, molding and rigorous testing, she ensured strength, manufacturability and ease of installation while guaranteeing that no lead would contact the water pathway. This innovation was subsequently applied across other products, significantly enhancing consumer safety and cementing her long-term impact as both an engineer and project manager.

Ms. Lucas gained valuable foundational experience as a materials engineering intern at Harley-Davidson from 2001 to 2003, followed by a co-op position in the materials laboratory at Mercury Marine in 2002. She began her professional journey in 1997 as a safety, quality and regulatory intern at Hydrite Chemical Company, where she served successfully for four years.

Devoted to making a difference alongside her primary roles, Ms. Lucas is a senior member of IEEE and has held multiple board positions with the American Society for Materials Engineering. Passionate about empowering more women within the traditionally male-dominated engineering realm, she is affiliated with the Society of Women Engineers and was recognized for her impact with the Empowering Women Industry "Innovator of the Year" award in 2025.

Ms. Lucas pursued higher education and earned a Master of Science in materials science engineering from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2005 as well as a Bachelor of Science in science materials engineering from the same institution in 2001.

Dedicated to the ideals of continuous learning, Ms. Lucas completed the Innovation at Work course through IEEE Educational Activities in 2022 and earned the 70e credential from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) in 2022. Furthermore, she became licensed as a professional engineer by the State of Wisconsin in 2017 and certified as a professional engineer by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying in 2016 and continues to maintain her PE licensure.

Reflecting on her storied journey to date, Ms. Lucas attributes her success to her willingness to engage directly with hands-on work — building prototypes herself rather than relying solely on computer models — which has proven invaluable as she continues to seek innovative solutions for failure analysis and product enhancement.

Known for her civic and community service contributions, Ms. Lucas volunteers with United Way as well as the Christmas Clearing Council of Waukesha County. She has also served as a judge for Future Cities competitions through IEEE — which allows students in seventh and eighth grade to display their creative abilities — and coaches youth teams for First Lego League and Destination Imagination for robotics. She also volunteers for Waukesha-based FeMade encouraging high school girls in the Waukesha area to consider careers in STEM by offering them tours, career coaching, hands-on activities and fun field trips.

Ms. Lucas' achievements and innovation in the engineering sector have seen her recognized with several accolades over the years, including being named Innovator of the Year in 2025 and Most Accomplished Young Engineer by ASM International (formerly the American Society for Metals).

Happily married and a proud mother of two children, Ms. Lucas maintains an active lifestyle outside of work through hobbies like downhill skiing, kayaking, rock climbing, paddle boarding, camping and running marathons.

Determined to further her impact in the coming years, Ms. Lucas is dedicated to revolutionizing power distribution by making it more efficient and sustainable through advancements in material science engineering. Her ultimate goal is to address the growing demands from data centers and electric vehicles, implementing recycled materials to reduce environmental impact and allow future generations to thrive.
