Dr. Goyer's entrepreneurial spirit is most evident in the founding of Coach for College in Vietnam immediately after completing undergraduate studies. As founder and director from 2008 to 2014, Dr. Goyer launched an innovative nonprofit that organized summer camps where American student-athletes partnered with Vietnamese college students to teach low-income middle school students about sports, academics and life skills. The program aimed to encourage students to remain engaged through middle school, high school and ultimately college. The inaugural camp took place in 2008 and continues its mission today. Notably, she collaborated with the Duke University provost and the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill chancellor to establish the program, which gradually expanded to include up to 35 universities across the United States. Securing a grant from the United States State Department enabled further support for the program.

Dr. Goyer takes particular pride in expanding Coach for College across diverse universities and fostering collaboration among administrators who typically do not work together. The program's impact in Vietnam is especially significant given historical relations between the countries, and uniting student-athletes—often rivals—toward a common goal stands as a remarkable achievement. The program's resilience during challenging periods such as the pandemic underscores its enduring success.

Earlier in her career, Dr. Goyer was recognized as a Robertson Fellow at Duke University from 2007 to 2008 and received the Rhodes Scholarship, one of the world's most prestigious international graduate scholarships, later that same year.

Throughout this professional journey, Dr. Goyer has maintained active membership in prominent organizations, including the Society for Research on Educational Effectiveness and the Phi Beta Kappa Society.

Dr. Goyer's academic background is both broad and distinguished. In 2021, she completed postdoctoral studies in psychology at Stanford University in California following the attainment of a Doctor of Education degree in human development and education from Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2014. Prior academic achievements include earning a Master of Business Administration in business administration and management from Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford in England in 2011; a master's degree in international and comparative education from the University of Oxford in 2010; and a Bachelor of Science in psychology and neuroscience with a minor in physics from Duke University in North Carolina in 2007.

Dr. Goyer attributes her success to formative experiences as a competitive tennis player at Duke University—a background that fostered persistence, resilience, discipline and goal-setting skills now applied across her professional endeavors.
