Ms. Yadouga has established a distinguished career in structural design, marked by more than four decades of professional experience and a steadfast commitment to her field. Since 1992, she has served as a structural designer and associate at Highland Associates in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. In this capacity, Ms. Yadouga is responsible for creating and developing plans and detailed drawings, as well as preparing construction documents for a wide array of projects, including buildings, steel framing and concrete foundations. Over the course of her tenure, she has completed hundreds of projects encompassing schools, minor league baseball stadiums and significant undertakings at Ellis Island. Her portfolio also includes industrial and infrastructure projects, as well as early-career work on retail developments. Ms. Yadouga regards each project as unique, presenting its own set of challenges that have contributed to her diverse skill set.
Before joining Highland Associates, Ms. Yadouga was employed as a CAD operator at Pocono Design Systems in Dunmore, Pennsylvania, from 1991 to 1992. There, she further developed her technical expertise in computer-aided design, supporting architectural and engineering teams with precise drafting services. Between 1983 and 1991, Ms. Yadouga held the position of structural CAD draftsman at GSGSB, formerly in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, where she contributed to a variety of retail, industrial, commercial, government and office projects.
Ms. Yadouga began her professional journey in 1980 as a CAD operator with Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises Inc. in her home town of Scranton, Pennsylvania. In this foundational role, she gained valuable experience working with emerging drafting technologies and supporting engineering operations in both the fossil power generation division and the superheater department.
Laying the groundwork for her achievements in the industry, Ms. Yadouga earned an associate degree in specialized technology with a focus on architectural drafting and design from Johnson College in Scranton in 1980. She previously graduated from Scranton Preparatory School, having received her diploma in 1977.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Ms. Yadouga is actively involved in civic organizations that reflect her passion for music and community engagement. For over 30 years, she has been a choral singer with the Choral Society of Northeast Pennsylvania and its predecessor organizations. Additionally, she has been a member of northeastern Pennsylvania's first women's chamber chorus, Voce Angeli Scranton, since its founding in 2016, whose annual performances support organizations dedicated to assisting women, children, and vulnerable members of the local community.
The encouragement of Ms. Yadouga's family played a pivotal role in shaping her ambitions, as both of her parents were influential figures. Her mother exemplified independence and self-reliance while her father inspired her to follow his path as a second-generation structural engineer. Throughout her career, Ms. Yadouga has also benefited from the support of supervisors and colleagues who recognized her capabilities and treated her equitably within the profession. She also credits her husband, who also works at Highlands Associates, for his ongoing support, though they seldom collaborate on the same projects.
Ms. Yadouga remains committed to advancing her expertise within the evolving landscape of structural design. She values ongoing professional development opportunities presented by new software advancements and industry innovations. As an advocate for women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields, Ms. Yadouga recognizes progress yet hopes for greater representation within engineering disciplines moving forward. Her dedication to excellence continues to drive her career as she seeks to refine her skills and contribute meaningfully to the profession for years to come.
