She began attending real estate investment seminars and launched a business focused on renovating older homes in East Dallas, an area known for its mid-century inventory. At her father's urging, she obtained her real estate license to deepen her understanding of property transactions.

Ms. McCurley takes particular pride in evolving from an artist into a businesswoman who has achieved financial independence and a deep understanding of business—a milestone not common among artists she knows. She enjoys the flexibility to pursue wealth aligned with her priorities rather than societal expectations.
