REGO PARK, NY, August 07, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John J. Mendoza has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Mendoza was born in Lima, Peru, but raised in New York, where he developed a strong sense of discipline and perseverance that would later define his professional and personal pursuits. His career in banking and finance spans more than two decades, marked by a series of progressive roles at some of the world's most prominent financial institutions.

Currently, Mr. Mendoza serves as a project senior analyst at Citigroup Inc., a position he has held since January 2022. In this capacity, he is responsible for enhancing the management information systems dashboard to provide deeper insights into check payment volumes and transaction values. He has introduced automation solutions, real-time reporting and process improvements that have optimized manual workflows using programming tools such as Python, R and Java. When standard programming tools are unavailable, he leverages Visual Basic for Applications within Excel to build automated solutions. Additionally, Mr. Mendoza incorporates Citibank-assigned risk ratings to manage end-user computing tools until they can be implemented on a permanent platform. His expertise in finance, compliance, product control and process improvement has made him an invaluable resource across global teams, with colleagues in Dublin, Warsaw and Bangalore regularly seeking his operational guidance.

Prior to joining Citibank, Mr. Mendoza built a distinguished career over more than 15 years as a business analyst in banking. At JPMorgan Chase & Co., he played a pivotal role in finance compliance, product control and process improvement initiatives. His tenure at JPMorgan Chase was notably interrupted on September 11, 2001, when he was called to active duty as a member of the United States Army Reserve. Demonstrating loyalty to duty, he left his civilian post to serve his country during a time of national crisis.

Mr. Mendoza also contributed his expertise to Deutsche Bank AG and Royal Bank of Canada, where he led initiatives in automation, reporting, data governance and operations. Across these institutions, he consistently delivered innovative solutions that improved efficiency and compliance while supporting organizational goals.

Mr. Mendoza's professional journey is deeply intertwined with his military service. From 1990 to 2002, he served in the U.S. Army, Reserve achieving the rank of lieutenant and specializing as a financial management technician under the 36 Bravo Military Occupational Specialty. He earned both airborne and air assault qualifications during his service. For his exemplary actions following the events of September 11, 2001—including volunteering for active duty in support of Operation Noble Eagle and Operation Enduring Freedom—he received the Presidential Unit Citation, the National Defense Service Medal and an official commendation from the U.S. Army Reserve Component Command. The commendation recognized his willingness to serve and credited him as an honor to both the soldiers of the United States Army Reserve and the Department of the Army.

Academically, Mr. Mendoza's background has been instrumental in shaping his career achievements. He holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting and completed coursework in business law and corporate finance at Baruch College in New York City. To further expand his expertise, he earned a certificate of completion with honors from Yale University's financial market program and completed studies in machine learning through the University of London. He also successfully finished the Banking, Finance, Corporate Law and Anti-Money Laundering training series program and completed the BSA/AML/OFAC Training Series through Arnold & Porter.

Reflecting on his career, Mr. Mendoza attributes much of his success to perseverance and the foundational knowledge gained during his military service. The rigorous training he underwent instilled a disciplined mindset that continues to influence his daily routine—beginning each day at 3:30 a.m.—and drives him to accomplish goals regardless of difficulty. This work ethic has enabled him to manage multiple projects simultaneously while supporting global operations teams at Citibank.

Beyond his professional responsibilities, Mr. Mendoza has demonstrated a commitment to civic engagement through previous involvement with the Auxiliary Police and ongoing membership in a veteran's organization dedicated to supporting fellow service members through monthly financial contributions. In his personal life, he finds fulfillment in spending time with his family—an aspect of his life he considers to be his greatest achievement—and enjoys going to the gym when possible. He regards family as the ultimate purpose in life, offering an opportunity to leave behind a meaningful legacy by helping raise the next generation to become good citizens.

Looking ahead, Mr. Mendoza aims to advance into a leadership role where he can guide artificial intelligence automation initiatives, improve operational efficiencies and mentor future business analysts. He has already conducted classes for colleagues at Citibank on proper artificial intelligence usage, emphasizing data quality as essential for effective implementation. Through these efforts, he seeks to close knowledge gaps surrounding artificial intelligence within the organization while continuing to progress in his own career.

Mr. Mendoza encourages others to never give up and stop pushing forward. During the economic downturn in 2008, he demonstrated remarkable perseverance by taking on multiple jobs while relentlessly pursuing opportunities to return to his career in finance. Through continuous networking, applying for positions and refusing to be discouraged by setbacks, he ultimately achieved his professional goals. Drawing on that experience, he encourages others to remain resilient, embrace perseverance and never allow temporary obstacles to define their future.
