ROSWELL, GA, August 21, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kimberlee Hernandez has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Hernandez has built a distinguished career in maternal health and home-based care for high-risk obstetric patients, earning recognition as an expert in this critical field. Since 2019, she has served as a senior account executive at Optum OB Homecare, part of UnitedHealth Group. In this capacity, she drives company outcomes and revenue growth by partnering with physicians, hospitals and health systems to implement evidence-based programs for high-risk pregnancies. Her work centers on providing home-based care to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes, supporting healthier pregnancies and motivating providers to collaborate on interventions for patients facing significant risks.

A defining achievement during Ms. Hernandez's tenure at Optum OB Homecare was the development and launch of a hypertension disorder monitoring initiative at Northside Hospital Atlanta, the largest delivering hospital in the region. Over two years, she worked closely with the hospital's case management team to establish this program, which addresses preeclampsia — a condition with notably high morbidity and mortality rates in Georgia.

Through numerous presentations and collaboration with administrative leaders, physicians and committees, Ms. Hernandez helped create a system that triggers clinical consults for high-risk patients diagnosed with hypertension disorders. The initiative ensures continued care after discharge, including around-the-clock monitoring of blood pressure and risk factors. This partnership between physicians and the hospital officially began in 2025, resulting in improved patient outcomes and reduced readmission rates for those affected by preeclampsia.

Prior to her current role, Ms. Hernandez spent about 23 years as an account executive in the pharmaceutical industry. She began her pharmaceutical sales career with PDI Inc. in 2001 as a pharmaceutical sales specialist. In 2016, she also joined Publicis Health as a pharmaceutical sales specialist. During her time in pharmaceuticals, she focused on building relationships with providers, particularly those specializing in obstetrics, which later proved invaluable when transitioning to home-based maternal health care. Her extensive experience enabled her to adapt quickly to new challenges in the home care sector.

Ms. Hernandez is an active member of several industry organizations, including the Georgia OBGyn Society and Georgia Maternal Health. These affiliations reflect her ongoing commitment to advancing best practices in maternal health across the state.

Ms. Hernandez's academic foundation includes a bachelor's degree in business, management, marketing and related support services from Florida State University, earned in 1979. The inspiration for her career path stems from personal experience of her passion for healthy pregnancy and healthy babies. This journey ignited her passion for supporting healthy pregnancies and assisting mothers eager to begin their families.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, Ms. Hernandez is deeply involved in civic activities. Since 2012, she has volunteered with guest services and Bible studies at North Point Ministries. She has also served on the board of directors for First Care Women's Clinic since 2007 and has been a member and volunteer there since 2000, contributing to prenatal education resources, financial resources assistance and counseling efforts.

Ms. Hernandez's dedication has been recognized through multiple awards at Optum OB Homecare in 2025. She received the national Account Executive of the Year award for Overall Performance, the Account Executive of the Year award for Highest Revenue Growth in the Gulf Coast Organization and the Culture Award.

Born in Corona, California Ms. Hernandez finds joy spending time with her grandchildren and taking ballroom dance lessons with her husband. Looking ahead, she remains determined to enhance maternal health care through proactive, preventive and patient-centered approaches at Optum OB Homecare. She is committed to raising awareness about conditions such as hyperemesis gravidarum — a severe form of nausea that can have serious consequences if untreated and preeclampsia prevention — ensuring that more providers recognize its significance and that patients receive effective treatment when they need it most.
