Since 1999, she has served as the executive director of The Tiny Tots Spot d/b/a Ebenezer Community Economic Development Corp in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where her expertise in directing and operating a preschool program has been widely recognized. Under her guidance, the organization grew from a single classroom to four classrooms, ensuring its longevity and continued impact over 25 years. Rev. Carrington's vision also led to the implementation of a comprehensive preschool curriculum addressing cognitive, social-emotional, physical and language, literacy and math development for three and four-year-olds. In addition to the regularly scheduled program, the school includes before- and after-care programs and for school-age children and a summer camp program.

A hallmark of Rev. Carrington's tenure is her dedication to inclusivity and accessibility. She established a bilingual program to support immigrant families, employing bilingual staff while primarily instructing in English. Recognizing the diverse needs of the community, inclusion classrooms for children with Individualized Education Programs are a part of the program. Rev. Carrington's holistic approach extends beyond child development to supporting families navigating various life challenges. Through the contracts with New Brunswick Public Schools, she facilitated the implementation of their early childhood preschool program and championed access to childcare subsidies for middle- and low-income families. Rev. Carrington ensured compliance with state licensing requirements and led the program to achieve accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children since 2004, as well as participation in the Grow New Jersey Kids program.

Before her work in early childhood education, Rev. Carrington spent 15 years as a research scientist and project analyst at R.W. Johnson Pharmaceutical Research Institute from 1979 to 1998. Her transition into early childhood education was inspired by a desire to make a meaningful difference following her tenure at R.W. Johnson Pharmaceutical Research Institute. After completing her master's degree in organization development, Rev. Carrington sought opportunities that aligned with her passion for empowering young women and supporting families. This led her to collaborate with Ebenezer Baptist Church on establishing the childcare center, a project that evolved into her life's work.

Rev. Carrington's academic achievements have played a pivotal role in shaping her professional journey. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Douglass College at Rutgers University in 1978, followed by a Master of Science in Organization Development at American University in 1994 and a Master of Divinity from New Brunswick Theological Seminary in 2018. Rev. Carrington is an active member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, reflecting her ongoing commitment to professional excellence and advocacy within the field.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Rev. Carrington has made significant contributions through civic engagement and ministry. She currently serves as the associate pastor of operations at New Hope Baptist Church in Metuchen, where she continues to expand her ministry work. Since 1999, she served as an associate minister at Ebenezer Baptist Church, where she notably served as interim pastor between 2021 and 2023. Additionally, Rev. Carrington holds the position of board president for the Eric B. Chandler Health Center Community Board.

Rev. Carrington's personal philosophy centers on serving God by serving others, an ethos reflected throughout her career and ministry involvement. She enjoys active participation in church ministry and nurturing relationships with loved ones. Looking ahead, Rev. Carrington plans to relocate to Texas to be closer to family as she approaches retirement. She anticipates new opportunities for continued ministry work, including an upcoming mission trip to Kenya and Tanzania, and consulting engagements that will allow her to share her wealth of experience with others.
