Marked by nearly 60 years of professional experience and exemplary leadership in architecture and design, Mr. Brandon currently serves as chief technology officer of Industrial Ecosystems Partners, where he is responsible for integrating emerging technologies and consulting on their applications. His work involves identifying effective new technologies, presenting strategies for best agricultural practices and demonstrating how these innovations can be leveraged to create value and efficiency within the organization. Additionally, he focuses on integrating and diversifying products to maintain a competitive edge in the industry.

Prior to focusing solely on his role at Industrial Ecosystems, Mr. Brandon spent more than three decades as a planner and designer from 1980 to 2016. This period saw him establish a widespread reputation for expertise in architecture as he collaborated closely with in-house contractors to deliver specifically tailored design and construction solutions for each client's needs. He knew that he wanted to be an architect from age 13 and designed his family's new house at age 14. He formally entered the field of architecture in 1968 with a focus on design and construction, he contributed significantly to numerous projects, often working at the intersection of design innovation and practical implementation.

A particularly notable chapter in Mr. Brandon's career was his freelance work in the social sector. He played a pivotal role in developing all of the visual presentations for a landmark court case in Corpus Christi, Texas, that sought to integrate Black and Hispanic communities. The case ultimately reached the Supreme Court of the United States, resulting in an important clarification regarding demographic reporting for white and Hispanic groups nationwide. His visual contributions proved vital throughout the proceedings and received positive feedback for their impact.

Earlier in his professional journey, Mr. Brandon traveled to Ohio to persuade Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) to recruit professionals into their ranks, successfully joining the first such cohort. This experience led him to participate in a government co-op program, which he later adapted for his own purposes.

Assigned to the Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO) Cap agency in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, alongside Bob Fuller, Mr. Brandon was among the first two VISTAs stationed in the Mississippi Delta — a region marked by significant Ku Klux Klan activity at the time. After receiving threats from the Klan due to his advocacy work, he was relocated by the regional office to Houston, Texas.

While in Pine Bluff, Mr. Brandon witnessed a tragic incident involving police violence against a young Black man with a mental disability, which sparked many demonstrations within the community. A white Baptist minister was the only person in the community speaking out on racial issues, and he spoke at this gathering. Taking a cue from Saul Alinsky (power always wins), he wrote a letter to the local newspaper criticizing the minister for being apologetic in tone, hoping his supporters would voice their support, and they did (politics is perception after all). His efforts attracted the local newspaper editor, who critiqued an apologetic stance taken by another community leader, galvanized local supporters but also attracted further threats from the Klan. Despite these challenges, local residents assured him that his efforts had made a lasting difference.

The foundation for Mr. Brandon's exemplary career was established at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he earned the equivalent of a Master of Architecture in 1972 after completing a Bachelor of Arts in 1968. The rigorous education he received provided him with both technical knowledge and critical thinking skills that has proved essential throughout his career in architecture and technology integration.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Brandon has been actively involved in civic initiatives and volunteerism. He has served as a volunteer coach for youth baseball and soccer teams and participated alongside his wife in supporting a scholarship fund for Alexandria Public Schools in Virginia.

In addition to his architectural, technological and community service endeavors, Mr. Brandon has contributed thought leadership through published works focused on energy systems, fuel innovation and best practices within ethanol refineries, with several of his articles appearing in the influential Biofuels Digest in 2015 and 2016. His leadership and dedication to innovation has been widely recognized, including previous selection for inclusion in Who's Who in America.

Reflecting on his storied journey thus far, Mr. Brandon attributes much of his success to characteristics associated with being on the autism spectrum, which have enabled him to approach challenges from unconventional perspectives and introduce innovative solutions that tend to be overlooked by traditional industry standards. An example of this creative problem solving can be seen through his support of Peter Danko, a renowned furniture designer whose one-piece molded plywood chair is now part of the Museum of Modern Art's collection thanks in part to equipment that was designed and funded by Mr. Brandon.

On a personal level, Mr. Brandon is happily married and a proud father of two children, both of whom have achieved distinction in their respective fields. His eldest child is an executive chef at The Pond — a unique restaurant located in Lincoln Park in Chicago — and has gained recognition for culinary excellence, including being featured on a Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) program alongside a mentor. His other son is an accomplished musician who performs regularly and has collaborated with prominent figures across the music industry.

Looking toward the future, Mr. Brandon remains dedicated to supporting others behind the scenes while continuing to work on several projects that are not yet generating revenue but reflect his ongoing commitment to innovation and progress across multiple disciplines.
