Years later, once the company had grown to roughly $100 million in sales, the same executives reversed course and stated they could provide the same type of business if they chose to, so it violated King's franchise agreement. They instructed King to shutter the business.
When Mr. King told them he could not move forward on that basis, they responded by suing him, leading to a protracted legal battle that lasted three years. Undeterred by mounting legal fees and efforts to force him out, Mr. King's persistence ultimately led to a settlement, underscoring his resilience and standing within the industry. The business today continues to flourish across the country.
Earlier in his career, from 1986 to 2018, Mr. King was a franchisee and South Zone Developer for Express Employment Professionals in Griffin, Georgia. Notably, in 2016, he received the Georgia Fast 40 Award from ACG, acknowledging his outstanding achievements and contributions to business growth in Georgia.
Born in Denver, Mr. King enjoys playing golf, skiing, scuba diving, offshore fishing and turkey hunting.
