PASO ROBLES, CA, September 16, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bradley S. Snavely has been recognized for achievement in the sports turf industry.
Marked by over four decades of diverse experience that spans agriculture, turf management and entertainment, Mr. Snavely currently serves as the vice president and technical director of Sustainable Turf Science (more commonly known as STS Turf), a position he has held since 2010. For over 15 years, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the company's direction and reputation within the sports turf sector. In 2011, he began collaborating with Dr. Salam Awada to develop turf-specific products, integrating advanced technology with specialized solutions for grass health; their partnership led to the utilization of a state-of-the-art production facility designed to meet the ever-evolving needs of the turf industry.
Mr. Snavely's expertise in soil and water analysis, agronomic program development and site-specific spray applications has made him a trusted resource for top golf courses and professional sports fields. Facilities around the world continue to rely on his knowledge to address challenging soil and water conditions, optimize turf health and promote sustainable practices.
Prior to joining STS Turf, Mr. Snavely worked as a manufacturing representative for the turf nutrition and fertilizer company Grigg Brothers, where he was responsible for developing the western United States market and exceeded expectations by contributing several innovative formulations and establishing comprehensive soil and water testing parameters. He became recognized as an expert in interpreting test results and provided critical support to clients who faced complex agronomic challenges.
Mr. Snavely's work has taken him to golf courses across the globe, including projects in Dubai, China, Australia, New Zealand and throughout the United States. Notably, he collaborated with a professor in Bangladesh to co-author a comprehensive book detailing the region's 15 distinct soil types.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Snavely served as an agronomist for a water treatment company. During this period, he authored an influential white paper on water treatment applications in agriculture and further honed his skills in soil and water evaluation. He also spent two decades specializing in sports turf nutrition, conducting tens of thousands of analyses, writing detailed recommendations and creating custom spray formulations tailored to specific environmental conditions.
In addition to his work in agriculture and turf management, Mr. Snavely owned an entertainment business where he gained valuable experience in customer service and business operations. His early professional journey included serving as the youngest contributing writer for a utility newsletter and as state sales manager for a telecommunications company, both of which contributed to the leadership and communication skills he continues to use today.
Hailing from an equally accomplished educational background, Mr. Snavely earned an Associate of Arts in general education from Reedley College in 1981 — also enhancing his writing skills as the lead sports writer for the university's newspaper Jungle Chant — and completed coursework toward a Bachelor of Arts in radio and television at Fresno State University. Growing up on a family farm instilled in him a strong work ethic from an early age — a value reinforced by his father's guidance and the responsibilities he was assigned as a child. This foundation inspired his return to agriculture after two decades in radio broadcasting and entrepreneurial endeavors within the entertainment industry.
Mr. Snavely's transition into agronomics was prompted when his brother-in-law sought his assistance to save a struggling sports turf supply company. Drawing upon his diverse skill set — communication, networking and adaptability — he quickly excelled in this new field. Within his first year working for his brother-in-law's company, he earned recognition as the top new representative and maintained multiple leadership roles until his departure.
Extending his efforts beyond direct client service, Mr. Snavely has been active as a public speaker at industry seminars and contributed to various radio industry projects. Throughout his career, he has been recognized with several accolades including the Top 10 New Product Award from the World Ag Expo, the Top Sales Award and Top-Producing Representative Worldwide honors for three consecutive years. Mr. Snavely will be speaking at the inaugural Western Golf and Sports Turf Summit in October 2026 on fertility and water contribution and management.
On a personal level, Mr. Snavely leads a rich and fulfilling family life alongside his wife Susan, who was his high school sweetheart. Their family includes their son Brad Jr., who serves as a quality control and inventory manager at STS Turf, their daughter Sarah and twin grandsons who were born to Sarah.
Looking to the future with determination, Mr. Snavely is committed to expanding STS Turf globally through strategic growth initiatives such as ally trade programs, mergers or acquisitions while leaving a lasting legacy by transforming the company into a household name within the sports turf industry. He remains dedicated to making meaningful contributions that will both improve his field and make a lasting impact on society at large.
Throughout his distinguished career of nearly 35 years, Mr. Snavely has been recognized not only for his technical expertise but also for his approach as an effective communicator who prioritizes facilitation over traditional salesmanship — a quality that continues to define his professional legacy today.
