Mr. Thompson is the founder of Mountain Dog LLC, a veteran-owned Alaska manufacturer specializing in freeze-dried pet treats, food toppers and whole-food supplements. He founded the company in 2022 and leads its strategic development, government relations, business-to-business sales and market expansion. His wife, Hannah Thompson, serves as chief executive officer and helps direct the company's administration, consumer sales and long-term growth.

Mountain Dog manufactures single-ingredient treats from wild-caught Alaska salmon and develops products for companion animals, active dogs and working dogs. The company has grown from a family-operated startup into an emerging national brand sold through more than 150 retail locations, with a commercial footprint extending from Alaska to Tennessee.

In 2026, Mountain Dog was recognized as Alaska's Manufacturer of the Year. Presented by the governor, the award acknowledged the company's growth, value-added use of Alaska resources and contribution to the state's manufacturing sector.

Mr. Thompson is also a co-founder and partner of E4M, an Alaska-based consulting company. E4M provides strategic development, operational leadership, project management and business expansion support to clients working across the energy, defense, environmental and advanced manufacturing sectors.

From 2023 to 2024, Mr. Thompson served as chief executive officer of T&C Labs, where he helped guide the direction and development of the research and development company. His broader business background includes consulting, transportation management, manufacturing operations and entrepreneurship. He previously served as general manager of Thompson Transport and owned T&H Global Holdings LLC.

Before entering the private sector, Mr. Thompson served in the U.S. Army and deployed to Iraq. He was injured during combat operations in 2004 and was later medically discharged. His military service was recognized with the Army Commendation Medal.

Following his military service, Mr. Thompson used the GI Bill to pursue professional aviation training. He became a helicopter pilot and also gained experience in fixed-wing aviation. His aviation career included work in demanding environments where sound judgment, preparation and accountability were essential. A later medical event ended his professional flying career and required him to redirect his experience toward business leadership, manufacturing and product development.

Mr. Thompson attended Central Oregon Community College, the University of Alaska Anchorage and Liberty University, where he pursued studies related to aviation, business, entrepreneurship, interdisciplinary studies and sociology. He discontinued his formal studies before graduation to meet his responsibilities as a husband, father and family provider.

His professional aviation qualifications included Federal Aviation Administration flight instructor and instrument flight instructor credentials, as well as specialized Bell 206BIII training. He also completed education in residential and construction inspection through American Home Inspectors Training.

Mr. Thompson serves as a member of the board of the Mat-Su Sentinel and supports Alaska's Healing Hearts through charitable contributions. His legislative work includes authoring Alaska House Joint Resolution 47. He has also participated in transportation and infrastructure planning involving the potential connection of Alaska's railroad system with the contiguous United States.

Mr. Thompson's professional path has been shaped by resilience and adaptation. After military injuries ended his Army career, he rebuilt his professional life through aviation. When medical circumstances later prevented him from continuing to fly, he shifted his focus to manufacturing, consulting and entrepreneurship. After a serious case of COVID-19 resulted in an extended hospitalization and difficult recovery, he continued building Mountain Dog with his family.

Mr. Thompson's long-term objective is to establish Mountain Dog as a nationally recognized American pet brand serving companion animals, active dogs and working dogs. He is also committed to creating meaningful employment opportunities for veterans and strengthening American manufacturing through practical and commercially viable innovation.
