Ms. Villa has distinguished herself as a leader in community relations, government affairs, and strategic partnerships, with a career focused on building relationships that connect institutions with the communities, industries, and civic leaders around them.

She currently serves as vice president of external relations and partnerships at Loyola Marymount University. In this capacity, Ms. Villa leads the university's efforts to strengthen its position as a prominent civic and institutional partner in the Los Angeles region. Her portfolio includes community relations, government affairs, and strategic partnerships and initiatives, with a focus on creating meaningful opportunities for students while advancing the university's broader institutional priorities.

Her work has included developing and stewarding partnerships with leading organizations throughout Los Angeles, including the Los Angeles Rams. Through these collaborations, she has helped create internships, executive mentorship opportunities, guest lectures, experiential learning programs, and other pathways that connect students directly with industry. She has also supported complex institutional matters involving government and community engagement, university permitting, and Loyola Marymount University's long-term relationship with its surrounding neighborhoods.

Among her notable accomplishments, Ms. Villa helped establish Loyola Marymount University as a higher education partner of the Los Angeles Rams and has played a central role in expanding that relationship into a multifaceted partnership supporting students, academics, athletics, community engagement, and the university's visibility throughout the region. She has also helped develop continuing education, professional development, and certification opportunities through strategic external partnerships.

During her 21-year tenure at Loyola Marymount University, Ms. Villa has held a series of progressively senior leadership roles spanning external relations, strategic partnerships, advancement, development, and constituent engagement. Notably, she has been the first person to serve in each of her leadership roles in strategic partnerships and external relations, giving her the opportunity to help architect the positions, build the functions, and define how the university engages with external partners. Rather than stepping into established portfolios, Ms. Villa has helped create the infrastructure, relationships, and strategies that have shaped this work at LMU.

Prior to becoming vice president, she served as LMU's first associate vice president of external relations and partnerships and, before that, as the university's first executive director of strategic partnerships and initiatives. In each role, she built upon the work she had established previously, expanding the university's capacity to develop strategic relationships across the civic, corporate, nonprofit, government, and community sectors. Her progression reflects not only increasing responsibility, but also the continued evolution of a function she helped build from the ground up.

Earlier in her LMU career, Ms. Villa served as senior director of development and as director of parent programs and parent giving. Those roles provided a foundation in fundraising, donor engagement, relationship management, and constituent strategy that continues to inform her approach today. Her more than two decades at the university have given her a broad institutional perspective and a deep understanding of how relationships, both within and beyond the university, can advance LMU's mission and create opportunities for its students.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Villa held marketing, development, and events roles with nonprofit and community-focused organizations. She served as marketing and development director at Project Walk Paralysis Recovery Centers and as marketing manager at Meals on Wheels Greater San Diego Inc. She also worked as an events manager at Hispanic Business Inc., coordinating programs designed to support and elevate business leaders and entrepreneurs.

Ms. Villa earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Loyola Marymount University and later completed a graduate certificate in fundraising management from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. Her professional development and broad experience across advancement, external relations, government affairs, and partnership development have shaped a leadership approach centered on relationship building, institutional strategy, and creating opportunities for others.

Ms. Villa is actively engaged in the Los Angeles civic and business community. She is involved with the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce and serves on the board of ALMA Backyard Farms, supporting an organization whose work brings together community, food access, education, and urban agriculture.

At the center of Ms. Villa's work is a belief that strong institutions are built through strong relationships. She credits much of her success to earning trust over time, embracing opportunities presented by supportive leaders, and approaching each new responsibility with determination and a willingness to grow.

Born in Mexico, Ms. Villa values spending time with her family and enjoys fishing, hiking, and exploring the outdoors.
