SEVERNA PARK, MD, September 17, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Robert Newman has been recognized for achievement in business development and strategic leadership in the tools and industrial sector.

Mr. Newman currently serves as the Vice President of Business Development Strategies, DEWALT at Stanley Black & Decker Inc., where he is responsible for developing business strategy across the company with a primary focus on the data center construction vertical. In this capacity, he manages direct relationships with hyperscalers, co-locators and those who own and operate data centers. He establishes connectivity with stakeholders to align company solutions with their goals for safety, productivity and faster commissioning of artificial intelligence factories.

Additionally, Mr. Newman cultivates partnerships down the supply chain, including general contractors and specialty trades such as electricians, mechanical contractors and concrete workers. His role involves bringing company solutions forward across all segments of the data center construction hierarchy and coordinating internal operations across local field teams, national teams and corporate resources. Mr. Newman ensures strategic alignment so that all teams deliver a consistent message, and he allocates the right corporate resources to fully support construction mega projects.

From 2019 to 2026, Mr. Newman was the Vice President of Global Business Development, Corporate at Stanley Black & Decker Inc., where he led initiatives that expanded the company's international reach. During his tenure as Senior Director of Cross-Business Development from 2018 to 2019, he played a key role in integrating business units to maximize growth opportunities. As Director of Business Development for commercial strategy between 2016 and 2018, Mr. Newman focused on driving commercial success through targeted strategies.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Newman held several pivotal roles within Stanley Black & Decker Inc., including Regional Sales Manager for STANLEY Security (Mechanical) from 2015 to 2016 and national account sales manager from 2014 to 2015. From 2011 to 2014, he served as National Training Manager, where his most notable achievement was realized during his impactful tenure in the leadership and training development group.

Mr. Newman played a pivotal role in launching the "Leading People Successfully" program for first-time managers following the merger of Black & Decker and Stanley Works. His commitment to collaboration across the enterprise enabled a successful global rollout of the program, enhancing the skills of emerging leaders.

Leveraging methodologies from the Franklin Covey program, Mr. Newman delivered comprehensive training on product knowledge, selling skills, presentation techniques and productivity. Not only did he excel in fostering development within others, but he also transformed underperforming customers into million-dollar distributor partners through attentive listening, consultation and a genuine partnership approach.

As a Channel Marketing Manager for national accounts from 2010 to 2011 and national account manager between 2009 and 2010 at Stanley Black & Decker Inc., Mr. Newman continued to build strong client relationships and drive business growth. His earlier responsibilities included serving as Field Training Manager from 2007 to 2009 after returning to Stanley Black & Decker following brief roles outside the company.

Between 2005 and 2006, Mr. Newman worked as Territory Manager at Boston Scientific's oncology division after being recruited by former managers familiar with his work ethic and abilities. Although new to healthcare sales cycles, he embraced the challenge before deciding to pursue other opportunities better aligned with his experience. Additionally, from 2006 until 2007, he contributed as a Dedicated Adviser and consultant with Advisory Board Company in their marketing group for hospitals before returning to Stanley Black & Decker as Field Training Manager for the Northeast region.

Mr. Newman's professional journey began in January 1999 when he joined Stanley Black & Decker as an End-User Specialist in Boston, Massachusetts. He participated in the sales and marketing management development program until 2005, engaging directly with construction site supervisors and craft workers about their tool usage and relaying valuable feedback to product management teams.

Complementing his corporate achievements, Mr. Newman has held advisory roles beyond Stanley Black & Decker. He has been a member of the board of advisers at Dynamic Green Products since 2023 and served on the board of advisers at Autonopia from 2022 to 2024. Additionally, Mr. Newman has mentored, served as a Strategic Advisor, and angel investor to other startups including one that appeared on the 2025-26 season of Shark Tank(TM).

Throughout his academic pursuits, Mr. Newman earned a bachelor's degree in business and economics from Lehigh University College of Business in 1999. Furthering his expertise, he obtained a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification from Stanley Black & Decker in 2022 and completed coursework through the Data Center Business Workshop at DCD Academy.

Mr. Newman attributes much of his success to mentors who provided guidance throughout his career, and he now makes a point of returning that support to others. He believes strongly in the value of mentorship at every career stage, noting that there is always something to learn from others, regardless of experience level. Mr. Newman emphasizes the importance of understanding the different perspectives behind today's conversations, which he sees as essential to navigating disagreement and building broader understanding.

Civic involvement has been a consistent theme throughout Mr. Newman's life. He currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for Girl Scouts of Central Maryland, after previously serving as second vice chair from 2024 to 2026 and director at large between 2019 and 2024 within the same organization. Since 2026, he has also been the director on the board of Southeastern Construction Owners and Associates Roundtable.

Mr. Newman's leadership extends to community organizations, including serving as the President of the Severna Park Swimming Association Inc from 2023 to 2024, after serving as Vice President between 2021 and 2023. He has contributed as an advisory board member for the Maryland Small Business Development Center since 2022.

Furthermore, Mr. Newman's dedication includes serving as a sponsor family for the United States Naval Academy since 2017. He is also a member of the board of advisors for Alliance for Hispanic Commercial Contractors since 2017. Additional leadership roles include President of The Oaks of Severna Park from 2019 to 2024, as well as director, treasurer, president and secretary of Russett Community Association between 2008 and 2015.

Outside his professional commitments, Mr. Newman enjoys playing golf. Looking ahead, he envisions a future where advancements in construction tools and practices will prioritize safety and productivity while focusing on improving skilled craft workers' well-being on job sites.
