Mr. Tahbaz's professional journey reflects a remarkable evolution from business leader to advocate, artist and author. Morad's has also written extensively about his experiences and time in Iran's notorious Evin prison in his memoir "Green Parrots: A Memoir of Survival in Iran's Evin Prison." Through his recent work with MT Productions LLC, he draws on his experiences of captivity, survival and renewal to explore freedom, dignity, identity and responsibility. His personal experiences and creative talents inform his artwork and writing to advance messages of justice and environmental stewardship. His current work is deeply informed by his years as a political prisoner in Iran, an ordeal that profoundly transformed his outlook and priorities.

Before his current endeavors, Mr. Tahbaz co-founded Americas Partners, where he held the role of general partner. He also founded and was a partner at MT Capital LLC. These positions allowed him to build on his early experience in private equity investing, which began in the early 1990s. During this period, Mr. Tahbaz served as an investor and board member for Air Methods Corporation and Empire Resorts Inc., both publicly traded companies listed on the Nasdaq at the time. His entry into private equity followed a successful start in real estate development in New York City beginning in 1983.

In January 2018, Mr. Tahbaz was arrested in Iran and detained for almost six years in Evin Prison. During his imprisonment, he turned to drawing, sketching, and woodworking as a means of preserving identity and maintaining an inner sense of freedom. He now uses those experiences to speak for people who remain detained and to encourage people to recognize and defend freedoms that are often taken for granted.

Notably, one of Mr. Tahbaz's wooden sculptures was acquired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in December 2025, marking a significant milestone in his artistic journey. In addition to his memoir, he is also the author and producer of "Iran Crossroads of Wildlife," a work that reflects his long-standing commitment to environmental conservation.

Having extensively contributed to environmental issues, Mr. Tahbaz's conservation work is regarded as one of his most significant achievements. He co-founded the Persian Wildlife Heritage Foundation in 2008, an organization dedicated to protecting wildlife and habitats in Iran. The organization partnered with the Iranian Department of Environment and the United Nations Development Program to carry out vital conservation projects.

Through his work with animals, Mr. Tahbaz explores themes of captivity, vulnerability and the responsibility to defend life threatened by neglect or indifference. His creative work transforms personal memory into a broader conversation about identity and the value of protecting both people and the natural world.

In recognition of his courage and commitment to exploration despite extraordinary challenges, Mr. Tahbaz received The Explorers Club President's Award for Courage in Exploration in 2026. He credits his survival during imprisonment to the unwavering support of his family and an internal conviction that enabled him to endure extreme adversity. By channeling positive thoughts and imagination, Mr. Tahbaz found solace and purpose even during the darkest periods of confinement, lessons he now shares with others as part of his advocacy for resilience
Mr. Tahbaz remains committed to global conservation initiatives. At the same time, he remains a human rights advocate. Through art and writing, he continues to amplify messages of justice, resilience and environmental responsibility for future generations.

Mr. Tahbaz's educational background includes a degree in liberal arts from Colgate University, earned in 1977 and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University, completed in 1983.
