The perspective behind that work was forged over nearly three decades of military service.
Gen. Goodwin retired from the United States Air Force in 2022 after serving in senior leadership roles across the Air Force and United States Space Force, including Chief of Staff and Deputy Commanding General for Support at Headquarters Space Operations Command. There, she helped establish the first operational field command of the United States Space Force while leading policy, human capital, resource management, and mission sustainment supporting more than 38,000 space and cyberspace professionals across 134 locations worldwide.

Earlier in her career, Gen. Goodwin became the first and only woman in United States Air Force history to command a bomb wing. As commander of the 2nd Bomb Wing at Barksdale Air Force Base, the largest bomb wing in the United States Air Force, she led more than 17,000 military and civilian personnel, oversaw an $816 million budget, and returned the B-52 to combat for the first time in a decade.

A command pilot with more than 2,900 flight hours, Gen. Goodwin flew nine aircraft, with the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber as her primary aircraft. As a B-2 instructor and evaluator pilot, she contributed to operational planning for the opening phases of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Odyssey Dawn while helping shape B-2 training and combat employment.

Her career also placed her at the intersection of military operations, national security, diplomacy, and government. She served as a National Defense Fellow, political advisor in Thailand, Deputy Director of the Commander's Action Group at U.S. Pacific Command, and Senior Military Assistant to the Secretary of the Air Force. Her work took her from the Pentagon to Capitol Hill and included advising the Secretary of Defense, Joint Chiefs of Staff, and White House on strategic and operational matters, as well as working with senior leaders and allies around the world.

Today, Gen. Goodwin brings that experience to leaders facing consequential decisions of their own. She advises CEOs, boards, and executive teams on strategy, governance, organizational transformation, artificial intelligence, and leading through periods of rapid change. She is also an internationally recognized keynote speaker whose audiences have included Harvard University, the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, Virginia Tech, the National Reconnaissance Office, and executive leadership forums across the country.

Beyond her advisory work, Gen. Goodwin serves on the board of Home Front Military Network and the advisory board of the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy and a Master of Arts in Business and Organizational Management from The George Washington University.

Her military and civilian honors include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Association Aviator of the Year, Daedalian's Pilot of the Year, Private Company Directors to Watch, and Woman Veteran Business Owner of the Year from the Southern Colorado Women's Chamber of Commerce.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Gen. Goodwin is a devoted spouse and mother of two daughters.
