/24-7PressRelease/ - Portland, ME, July 10, 2008, Linda H. Jacobson, Outpatient Psychiatric Nurse Coordinator for Maine Medical Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of mental healthcare.

Linda H. Jacobson MAEd, MSN, PMHCNS-BC, has extensive background in the treatment of chronic mental health disorders. She is a clinical nurse specialist working on a multi-disciplinary, team based practice in the adult division of the Out-Patient Mental Health Clinic. The model of care is oriented to a biopsychosocial, rehabilitative model. The overall clinic serves patients' mental health needs across the spectrum from child and adolescent services through geriatric services. Linda teaches in the continuing education department at the local state University of Southern Maine. Linda has also developed a Psychiatric Nursing Network that has targeted bringing professional psychiatric nurses of all levels from different practice settings together to share continuing education, practice paradigms, process improvement plans, welcome new nurses, etc. Within three years, the Network has over 100 members.

Ms. Jacobson received her Master's Degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Husson College and another Master's Degree in Adult Education from the University of Southern Maine. She is affiliated with the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Ms. Jacobson stays current with the trends in her profession by researching, attending meetings and reading industry-related publications and hopes to grow professionally in the future.
