With 25 years of experience in public safety, Mr. Smith honed an expertise in managing law enforcement services and environmental health. As supervising hazardous materials specialist, his responsibilities include developing procedures for conducting inspections, overseeing hazardous material generators and handlers, consulting with various industries, overseeing safety records, policy and procedures, evaluating emergency response, reviewing staff work, handling business and materials designed to prevent accidents, presentations to businesses and the public, and discussing on compliance and purpose.

Mr. Smith received his Master's Degree in Environmental Protection of Health from California State University, Northridge in 1985. A Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America, he is also Chairman of the Board for the Economic Development Corporation. He attributes his success to his ability to utilize the opportunities that came his way.
