A renowned pediatric physician, Dr. Frankel has dedicated his 24-year career to providing innovative care for children and promoting children's health both domestically and internationally. He shares his expertise in pediatric critical care and palliative care medicine as a professor to medical students and residents and as an organizer of various outreach programs. The most gratifying aspect of his career is being able to care for sick children in complex environments and having the opportunity to train and make a significant impact on the next generation of healthcare providers. Dr. Frankel attributes his success to the quality of his education, the support of his colleagues and his ability to keep a balance between his professional and personal life.
Dr. Frankel received his MD from the Universiteit Antwerpen in Belgium in 1978. He has been honored with the Humanitarian Award by the American College of Chest Physicians in 2005, the Rambar-Mark's Outstanding Clinical Care Award by the Stanford University School of Medicine in 2004, and the Outstanding Resident Teacher Award by the Valley Medical Center of Fresno in 1981. He looks forward to developing and implementing more advanced treatments in pediatric critical care and aspires to treat children on a larger scale at more facilities.
