With an academic background in education -- she spent 13 years as a high school teacher -- her messages are practical, provocative and real. Ms. Thomas-Williams co-authored the book Aggressive and Violent Students, which presents the "School-Wide-Risk Inventory for Violence" along with practical strategies and programs for working with aggressive, hostile, and/or violent students. Ms. Thomas-Williams received her Master's Degree in Education from the University of North Florida and her Bachelor's Degree in Biology and Chemistry from Bethune-Cookman University. She also holds certification in administration and supervision, facilitative leadership and gender and ethnic expectations. Ms. Thomas-Williams has completed instruction as a student achievement trainer, a trainer of activities integrating math and science and as a leadership trainer for school improvement. She was also named valedictorian of her high school class. Ms. Thomas-Williams was the recipient of the Education Policy Fellows Program, a professional development program for emerging and mid-level leaders in public and private organizations whose professional passion is education. She is a member of the National Association of Professional Women, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, Phi Delta Kappa, Delta Kappa Gamma and the National Association of Female Business Executives.
