With more than 19 years of professional experience, Dr. Díez specializes in interventional cardiology and acute coronary syndrome. He is responsible for conducting research on cardiovascular diseases, and teaching cardiology and interventional cardiology. Dr. Díez previously worked as the co-director of the cardiac laboratories and the director of clinical research at Tulane University.

Dr. Díez received various educational awards from the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association, including the Everest Award and the Mueller Award. He has written eight chapters on cardiac diseases, and has published more than 42 articles on cardiology. Dr. Díez has also presented more than 80 lectures at national and international meetings focusing on cardiology.

Dr. Díez has completed training in internal medicine and cardiology. He is board certified in cardiovascular diseases. He is an associate editor for the Texas Heart Institute Journal and is affiliated with the Cardiac Catheterization Committee of the American College of Cardiology.
