With 22 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Ms. Hych has been in her current position at Friends of Families, LLC for five years. Her responsibilities include caring for patients with mental disabilities and finding living arrangements. Friends of Families, LLC is a home healthcare center that provides healthcare services for mentally disabled adults. Prior to her work with Friends of Families, Ms. Hych was part of the personal support staff for Volunteers of America/GROW, the management of which assisted her in starting her own organization, including obtaining a contract with the state of Washington.

Ms. Hych attributes her success to her determination and faith in God. She became involved in her profession because she loves to help people. The highlight of her career so far has been taking on the case of a mentally disabled man who had been considered beyond help. She feels that such people inspire her to do the work that she does. The biggest issue facing her profession, she feels, is the lack of discussion on the part of politicians and the government on financing care for mentally disabled adults.
