With more than 26 years of professional experience, Rep. Hershey serves as the chair of the agriculture & Rural Affairs Committee and is a member of the Consumer Affairs Committee. He considers sponsoring the ACRE bill and being able to expand state law pertaining to zoning regulations to be the highlight of his career and attributes his success to his hard work and positive attitude. He feels that the increase in the property taxes is the most important issue facing agriculture today.

Rep. Hershey received a certification in rural planning from Pennsylvania State University. He sits on the board of the YMCA and serves as chairman of the Chesapeake Bay Commission. Also a conservative Republican and a dairy farmer, he is affiliated with the Pennsylvania Holstein Association. He stays current with the trends in his profession by reading industry-related publications and hopes to be involved in the agriculture and government campaigns in the future.
