/24-7PressRelease/ - Tyler, TX, August 2, 2008, David Hector, MD, a partner of Tyler Cardiovascular Consultants (CVC), has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of healthcare.

Dr. Hector has 30 years of professional experience in healthcare and excels in interventional cardiology. He came to Tyler CVC from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler where he was a professor of Internal Medicine and Cardiology. Previously he was a Major in the U.S. Army Medical Corps at Fort Hood, Texas. He received the Army Commendation Medal, The Army Medal of Achievement in 1982, and in January of 2008 was awarded a Distinguished Fellowship from the American Academy of Cardiology. He attributes his success to his determination, his curiosity, and his helping nature.

Dr. Hector graduated from DePauw University in 1974 with a degree in zoology and chemistry and earned his MD from the University of Cincinnati in 1978. He completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital and his Fellowship in Cardiology through the Cleveland Clinic in Cincinnati, Ohio. He became certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology through the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Hector is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology, the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions, a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Cardiology, a board member of the American Heart Association, and is also affiliated with the American Medical Association and the Texas Medical Association. Dr. Hector's future plans include the practice of cardiology and medical research for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
