/24-7PressRelease/ - Crooksville, OH, August 2, 2008, Joanne Boggs-Boring, Correspondent for Perry County Tribune, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in journalism.

Ms. Boggs-Boring has 10 years of professional writing experience as the correspondent for Perry County Tribune. Her daily responsibilities include conducting interviews with individuals of interest in the community, writing news articles, taking photographs and emailing the edited versions to the newspaper on time each week. Ms. Boring became involved in writing after retiring as a public high school teacher. She has been a consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics and Olan Mills photography studios, a church secretary and was part of the team of employees that opened the Elder-Beerman department store in Zanesville, OH. She is one of the editors for two books recently published by the Crooksville Arts Council and is currently working on the third book.

In 1961, Ms. Boggs-Boring received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Tennessee after transferring from Texas Woman's University where she was a student for two years and received a home economics education with a minor in science. She continued her education with coursework at Ohio University.

Ms. Boggs-Boring is currently the Social Action Coordinator for the Foothills District of United Methodist Women of the United Methodist Church. She has been a Board Member for Girl Scouts Heart of Ohio, Inc. and currently serves as trustee for the National Ceramic Museum and Heritage Center. She participates in the Crooksville Arts Council as a member and is a member of the First United Methodist Church and its Administrative Board that recently merged with New Hope United Methodist Church to become First Hope United Methodist Church of Crooksville.

Ms. Boggs-Boring has been married to Jim Boring and they recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary. They have a daughter, Julie, who is a pharmacist and mother of two daughters, Haley and Gabrielle. Her husband is Matthew Simpson and they reside in Hilliard, OH.
