With 17 years of professional experience, Ms. Meier specializes in teaching, litigating and encouraging law reform. She is also a professor of clinical law at George Washington University Law School. She attributes her success to her education, passion for her profession and energetic nature.
In 1983, Ms. Meier received her JD, Cum Laude from the University of Chicago. She received her Bachelor of Arts, Magna Cum Laude from Harvard University in 1979. She is a member of the Washington Council of Lawyers, the Consortium of Legal Service Providers and the District of Columbia Bar Association. She is also a member of the Family Law, Poverty Law and Women and the Law Sections of the Association of American Law Schools.
Ms. Meier has received several awards, including the Justice for Children Leadership Award in 2007, the Celebrating Solutions Award from the Mary Byron Foundation in 2006 and the Cahn Award from the National Equal Justice Library in 2001. She also received the Women's Law and Public Policy Fellowship from Georgetown Law from 1985-1986 and the Public Interest Law Internship Graduate Fellowship in 1983.
