/24-7PressRelease/ - Voorhees, NJ, August 10, 2008, Leta E. Strain, Teacher of the Gifted at Osage Elementary School of the Voorhees Board of Education, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of education.
With more than 22 years of professional experience, Ms. Strain specializes in teaching students at all levels and maintaining and coordinating gifted programs in a highly dynamic global environment. As teacher of the gifted, she is primarily responsible for conducting enrichment programs, teaching and mentoring students from prekindergarten to the fifth grade, conducting research, and preparing students for the global economy. Nominated for the Disney American Teacher Award in 1999, 2000, 2002, and 2004 and for the Applause Award in 2004, Ms. Strain considers leading her students to help the less fortunate through fundraising events and activities to be the most fulfilling aspect of her career. She attributes her success to her hard work and to the support she receives from her family and school community.
Ms. Strain earned her Master's Degree in Special Education, with a major in Deaf Education, in 1977 and her Bachelor's Degree in Biology from McDaniel College in 1976. Away from work, she volunteers for the Alicia Rose Victorious Foundation and other local and global community service projects. In the future, she hopes to popularize her website internationally, so that both parents and children can access the various enrichment activities that if offers.
