With more than 28 years of professional experience, Mr. Adelman specializes in feeding children with special dietary needs. As director of nutritional services, he is responsible for overseeing operations including food services, menu planning, purchasing, supervising staff and dietitians, and coordinating special projects. He became involved in his profession because of his work experience. A three-time recipient of the National Cully Award, he has also been honored with the New York Farms Partnership Award and the James Beard Award. He has written a cookbook entitled "Special Foods for Special Kids" and attributes his success to his dedication and passion for his profession.

Mr. Adelman received his Bachelor of Science in Food Management and Nutrition from the Pratt Institute in 1978 and contributes generously to various charitable organizations. A member of the New York School Nutrition Association and the School Nutrition Association, he hopes to do public speaking and write a second book in the future.
