Janet Barnstable Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who Executive, Professional and Entrepreneurial Registry

/24-7PressRelease/ - Addison, IL, August 22, 2008, Janet Barnstable, Communications Resource Teacher at Percy Julian Middle School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of virtual education.

With an impressive background of more than 47 years of experience as an educator, Ms. Barnstable is responsible for teaching technology integration to students of the virtual classroom. The virtual classroom is an elective open to seventh- and eighth-grade students that promotes communication, collaboration and teamwork among students. She became involved in her profession because of her interest in teaching and attributes her success to her love for children and desire to learn. Ms. Barnstable has seven years of experience teaching adult education classes on horticulture. She motivates reluctant learners and assists students in their academics and projects.

Ms. Barnstable takes pride in encouraging virtual classroom students to participate in the International Web Design Contest and win prizes for their Web sites. She is a recipient of the Village of Oak Park Award for promoting health awareness in 2005, the Larry Stilgebauer Technology Award of Excellence in 2000, the Illinois Computer Educators Showcase Award in 1998, the Award of Merit for her project "Recycle Yourself" at the Internet Science and Technology Fair in 1997 and the Golden Apple Award in 1996. She was also honored with the Global SchoolNet Online Shared Learning Award every year from 2002 to 2005.

A product of the University of Illinois, Ms. Barnstable received her Master of Science in Education in 1970 and her Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1963. She also holds a Longevity Certification in Technology and Science and is a member of the Technology Education Association of Illinois. She regularly attends the National School Boards Association Technology and Learning Conference and intends to continue volunteering for the virtual classroom education internationally.
