/24-7PressRelease/ - Berkeley, CA, August 31, 2008, Janet Miller, Program Director at College Internship Program - the Berkeley Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of education.
Ms. Miller has 19 years of professional experience and excels in college transition programs, developing and directing programs for college-aged students with challenges in learning, independent living skills, attention and executive functioning. In addition to program and curriculum development, she is responsible for hiring and supervising staff, teaching and acting as liaison to local colleges and state programs on disability. Ms. Miller previously worked as the Director of the Academic Success Center at Menlo College in Atherton, California.
Ms. Miller holds a Bachelor's Degree in English Language Arts from Hunter College, CUNY, a Certificate in Educational Therapy and a Master's Degree in Special Education from San Francisco State University and a Master's Degree in Organizational Development and Transformation from the California Institute of Integral Studies. She is affiliated with the Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD), Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD) and Private College Disability Resources Directors (PCDRC) in Northern California. In addition to continuing to develop innovative programming for young people with Asperger's and ADHD, Ms. Miller plans to advocate at the state and national level for their broadened services. She believes that the lack of funding for special education is the most important issue facing her profession today.
